Someone once told me something, he said, " forget your passion and make money."

But coming to think of it, what good is your passion if it doesn't improve your living standard. Let me tell you about something I saw. There was this passionate teacher that taught me during my secondary school years. She was so passionate and so good with her job that we learnt so much from her. Years later I saw her somewhere in my streets. Time had gone so much that she couldn't recognize me anymore but I could definitely recognize her. The whole summary is that I didn't like the state I saw her in. I would actually have loved to see her in a different or much better state. That gave me a lot of concern and left me with a lot of questions about passion. Does your passion put you in a state of benefiting others and ending up as a servant or less? Does it mean that you should suffer all your life while you benefit others - who we later discover do not really care less about you?
Many times we learn from experience. There are many people out there who are looking for other people to prey on. They make use of your passion as an opportunity to use you, sap the juice out of you and dump you when they feel that you are no longer useful to them. That is the reason why we have people who lived all their lives fueling their passions and only ending in regrets.
I've come to realize that we only live once, but if we do it right, once is enough. You are the only person responsible for what you turn out to be in life. When you face the storm and get to realize that nobody really cares, then you will learn the hard way. It is at this point you get to realize that you are all alone in this world. Even your shadow leaves you alone in the darkness. Nobody pays your bills, nobody feeds you, nobody buys clothes for your children nor send them to school for you. Pray not to have a medical emergency, then you will get a clear picture of every man for himself.
Now, many people judge others as quickly as they can because of what they do to make this money. I really don't refere to doing bad things. I actually refer to their zeal and enthusiasm they add to their work in terms of profit making. Many people keep saying, " work with passion, forget about money. Just be a good boy." From being a good boy, you become a good man, and then you eventually become a poor husband.
Am I saying that working with passion is bad? No!!! That's not what I mean. All I am trying to say is that making money is very important in anything we do. Working with passion is also as important but your passionate work should also put money into your passionate pockets as well.
There should be a balance to it. Working without passion for what you do is not good actually. But having passion what the work you do without making a good living from it is also not good.
I will like to advise that we do our work with all our heart and soul. But let's also put in mind that we have some bills to pay. Passion alone will not pay your bills you know
