After a horrendous night, everyone just want a hearty breakfast then trudge home and straight to bed. As last night was not an exemption from those usual busy nights, where you just long for a short time of peace and quiet, with your feet up. Not even for a proper break, but only for a respite from a non-stop bustle of looking after unwell patients and admissions, one after another.
A TOXIC night means non-stop.
I certainly wished that i have more than two hands, for patients not arriving so near to each other, to have more hospital beds, and to not parked a patient in an ambulance trolley in the corridor. Seeing the latter at some point gave us the giggles.
Breakfast to take away the blues!!!
A friend suggested an American restaurant she'd been to near our hospital. She said near, but we got lost looking for it. The city of London is so compact with loads of side streets that it can be so confusing.
Coffee or OJ?
Jackson & Rye is a few meters away from Bank Station. It's not along a busy street so you really have to purposely find it. Come to think of it, accessing it from the main road would have been nearer and easier for us.
Our menus are created by expert and dedicated chefs with flavours which offer a fantastic fusion of French classics with an American twist.
Inside the restaurant is very impressive with its' New York inspired ambiance with art nouveau prints on its' walls. Coupled that with a jazzy French songs while eating was certainly a novelty and made it memorable for us.
I want that cabinet!
Huervos Ranchos
I particularly like the thin, crispy bacon that can only be found in the US, but I thought I will try something new. The Huervos Ranchos got tortillas with it, with sunny side-up on top. The tortillas were also crispy even when less warm.

The chorizo slices eaten with the fried potatoes were actually good. Small tomato slices can also be eaten with the tortilla, although I wasn't taken with the mashed avocado and the black beans.
There's something about the consistency of the mashed avocado, on its' own or with the tortilla mix. Or I was mixing it wrongly?

Avocado Royale
My friend had this as she love avocado.
There were a few patrons, typical of London's immaculately groomed city workers and businessmen.
The place is perfect, quiet and nice to my sore eyes. The music too complemented the place very well. Interesting art works can be seen along its' walls.
There's a mezzanine for more dining areas that we would like to try. And a bar.
For sure in another day.
