My whole career I've dealt with a lot of censorship and it's boundaries. I lost a page with 100k followers on facebook awhile back, deleted with no communication, and ever since I've had a bad taste in my mouth when it comes to trying to build a following somewhere. Giving a business the power to cut you off at their discretion is dangerous and you don't really understand the ramifications of it until it happens to you.
Steemit is breathing some fresh air into my lungs and wings when it comes to blogging, and I'm happy to share my work on this site, but what are the limits? What happens when guys start posting their dicks 1000 times a day? What happens when bots start gaming the system and generating funds disproportionate to the users?
I don't really know. I don't have any answers per usual.
The only thing I do know is that I'm nuisance on the internet, with a track record to prove it. For now this place seems to be really nice though! What are your thoughts on this community, where it's going, if it can survive when it's basically thriving on money and the volatility of the market.
Is it more then that? Is steemit ready for a broader audience, or will it stay as a cryptocurrency circle jerk?
