What better way to enjoy a weekend with newfound friends than at an amusement park, right? Well, that was the case for me, ,
,
, and
!
Right after our Hive PH Meetup, we went on a short excursion to Tagaytay. A few of our Hive PH friends came along but for this story, the abovementioned were the ones who went into full-on child mode during our visit to SKY RANCH.
I know I mentioned many times, I am no longer attracted to crowded places but amusement parks are an exception!
Why?
Because I just love them! And I've been dreaming of also visiting the ones located in other countries. It just brings out my inner child who loves the thrill and adrenaline rush. And I'm not getting any younger! I mean I want to enjoy those heart-stopping rides as long as my body can.
Anyways, let's go to the fun part!
We arrived at Sky Ranch right after we had lunch at a Bulalo restaurant, so it was probably around 2 pm-ish if I'm not mistaken. Once we arrived at the entrance, we took a moment to pause as it was jampacked with people and kids! We had a mini-meeting about whether to push through going in. In the end, the group split up, some stayed behind at a nearby cafe to do their own thing, and the rest of us decided to have fun!
The admission ticket was sold at Php100 or $1.85. We had to purchase the tickets for the ride at a different booth inside.
There were several booths found right as you enter the park. On the middle were food stalls and on the side, some carnival games and venue attractions. Some guys in superhero costumes can be seen walking around as well. And we walk past all of these right away. I guess we were pressed for time or we also know we can't stay longer and so we needed to explore as much as we can.
By the end of the covered area was an open space where some people were trying out the zipline. That didn't get me excited though as I've tried it several times in other places and with longer distances.
The Ferris wheel and some rides can be seen on one side of the park. And we took some photos before proceeding to that area with excitement.
We passed by a huge billboard of what rides could be found in this area. I just realized as well as I write this that we only got to explore Phase 1 of SKY RANCH! There was so much more on the other side which I was unaware of at that time.
As we were nearing the rides, my smile was ear to ear! There were a few ones where adults can ride and play with the kids and some require you to pass the height and age requirement.
I was eyeing the Drop Tower but when I saw the height of its drop, there was no challenge to it.
was eyeing this carousel and now I'm wondering what made her choose this one as our final ride later that day. Or was it a majority choice? I can't remember. Although it was just the perfect way to decompress from the death-defying little adventure we had before that.
We then got to the area of "play-to-win souvenir" booths like Hook-A-Duck, and Ring Toss. We played Short Shots of which neither any of us won. We I never was lucky, to begin with.
and
tried their luck at Short Shots. Despite the cheers we rendered to our first contender Adam, somehow he managed to direct the balls in all sorts of directions than on the ring itself. He trained for something else but not this one.
Good thing Arc saved the day! Perhaps the lucky planet Jupiter was on her side and she manage to shoot her last ball perfectly on the ring and won herself a huggable plush Koala.
Just as we had enough fun with these games, it was finally time to get our asses on those rides. Yep! It was non-negotiable that we wouldn't be able to hop on at least one fun ride. The Sky Viking was my top choice only because I had ridden on it several times in the past and enjoyed it every single time despite it being nerve-wracking!
My sidekicks were and
as
didn't want to and
back out at the last minute as we were purchasing tickets at the booth. We paid Php100 or $1.84 for the Sky Viking and Php50 or close to a dollar for the Carousel.
Alas, I was like a teenage kid who was to embark on one of the most terrifying yet satisfying rides of my life by far. I was so excited as we waited in line for our turn, oblivious to what an epic ride it was to become.
We left all our stuff with (thank you so much) who also manage to shoot our hilarious reactions from the ride and yet, I still had to blur their faces because of anonymity reasons. 🙄 I also brought my Go Po to record our real-time reactions however I would still have to blur them out once again. However, it was all worth it. If I needed a good laugh, I would just watch it anytime I want.
We chose to sit on the left side of the boat and in the middle area. I requested that I would sit in between so I could record all three of us perfectly in one frame and with also the thought that it would be easier to hand over to one of them if I think I would start to lose grip on my Go Pro. And sure glad I did.
We settled down. Our safety railings are secured. I was starting to get nervous out of nowhere. The guy in charge started to ask those with health conditions to step out and gave us our last chance to back out. Once no one said a word, he then proceeded to tell us it was a 5-minute run! Shit! I thought it was shorter.
And off we go...
I will have to share what it felt like next time together with the video clip so you would also be able to picture it out well. Though these photos already tell you how intense and exhilarating it was with just smiling and laughing throughout as if it was nothing while I felt like I damaged my vocal cords for screaming at the top of my lungs and lastly,
silently leaning onto me for dear life.
There is nothing more I can tell.
To sum this all up. It was my first time at SKY RANCH in Tagaytay and having to experience it with my Hive PH friends was just epic! If I had to do it all over again, I would.
Stay tune for the video!
