The parade of ColognePride 2017 ended peacefully and cheerfully on a sunny Sunday.
Around 30,000 participants demonstrated their love and courage with creative costumes and performances. With 950,000 visitors showed up for support, it is a LGBT event full of good vibes.
The parade got my undivided attention. I was accompanied by around 10 lesbian friends. I enjoyed my time in the crowd with them. We just let the parade surprise and impress us. I would like to share images that I captured throughout the event.
10:30 am: Police force and their fleet of cars stood by outside of Cologne central station.
12:00 pm: Motorcycle drivers took the lead and kickstarted the parade in the city centre.
I was standing on the Deutzer Bridge, watching the parade. When Gaydora delivery group appears, laughters came from the crowd.
The slogan this year is "Nie Wieder"(never again). Flyers, brochures, stickers, sweets, and condoms were handed out.
At some point, I felt I am at a fashion show of Victoria's Secret.
