Hello Hivers, it’s a new week and this week prompt it’s a topic of interest as it affects everyone in the society. No matter the level or status, there are times where each individual needs help.
Reachout and Humanitarian services goes beyond the desire, it works with passion and the willingness to help. Even though I do not have all the time in the world, but I believe that everyone no matter the status have something to give. It could be time, skill, love or even a listening ear.
In my own little way, I have been practicing this. Even though I might not be available to join volunteer programs or sensitization project, I have actively help people in ways I can. I have offered practical help to individuals who are in need. If possible, even render financial assistance to them. Recently, in my locality I have supported cleaning projects for the good of the community. I have cleaned bustops, sidewalks and illegal dump sites
Honestly it hasn’t been easy. Sometimes you feel you are not doing enough. Other times people question your motives and are even skeptical to accept help from you. But the inner fulfillment you get after offering help has impacted my life.
WHAT MOTIVATES ME?
I draw inspiration from my personal experiences. I have been in low points of my life but an unexpected kindness from someone has helped to uplift me. I also want to be a turning point for others. Also seeing the joy and relief on the face of someone after receiving help from me is enough motivation to keep pushing. I remember on time I helped a course mate to pay up his school fees because he did not have enough money. At that time, it was not easy for me, but I assisted with the little money I had, and he paid up. Up till today he is still grateful to me and has even helped me in more ways that I did not even expect. The joy experiences like this gives me is enough motivation for me to keep going.
Humanitarian services are the heart of the society. They bring people together and helped to create long lasting bonds and friendships. Whether in times of crises or times of peace, outreach efforts help to build trust, spark hope and help people to rise from difficult situations. It brings joy and togetherness and in all build a loving society.
For the society, it builds a stronger, safe and more empathetic community.
For the individual, it fosters growth, unity and a sense of belonging.
When we reachout to people and show kindness, we show that the matter and that alone can be life changing.
To get involved in reachout programs, you can:
- Volunteer at NGO’s, churches or schools.
- Donate not just money, but clothes, food, time and emotional support.
- You can also join outreach programs in your locality or create one with your friends.
- You can use social media platforms to educate people on the importance of outreach programs and how they can be of help.
Reachout and humanitarian services is not about how much you have, its about how much you care. You can start small, start now. In any way you can render help to someone please do. You can help financially or even moral support. When we do this it will create a more friendly society for all.
