Greetings friends, yesterday I was in Taksim/Istanbul for the study abroad fair organized by Study Expo and attended by 39 different institutions from different countries. It was an event that lasted about 5 hours and hosted dozens of guests. First of all, I would like to thank the organizers and the people who were there to give information.
On Saturday, February 25th, the fair was held in Taksim, InterContinental Hotel, and on Sunday, February 26th, in Kozyatağı, Hilton Hotel. I was only able to go to the one in Taksim. The fair was free of charge and it was enough to get an online invitation.

When I arrived at the InterContinental hotel, they directed me to the fairgrounds. When I told them my online invitation code, I was given a cardboard bag and a guide with the details of the fair. I walked around for the first few minutes and it was a big and crowded hall.
There were 2 representatives each at tables numbered from 1 to 39. There were also 2 chairs in front of the tables for guests. Each number represented a different school or institution.
It was a great fair to get information about places that offer language, undergraduate, graduate, summer school, diploma, and certificate programs in countries like the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Germany, France, and Sweden. I got a lot of information on the topics I was interested in and I will share it with you a little later. Now, I would like to show you some of the paintings and other things that I found interesting in this hotel, which I visited for the first time.
I really liked these chandeliers that were used for lighting in the fairgrounds, my camera didn't capture them very well but they lit up the place very well. I also came across various paintings in many parts of the hotel. Although almost all of them have common patterns, I like the use of different paintings indoors.
Since I am a university graduate, I was curious about the information about a master's degree abroad. Now I will give you information about the cost of "Master's Degree " education and "monthly " living expenses that vary according to countries.
Sweden
The tuition fee is €12,000 per year. And the monthly living expenses are 800€. It is also necessary to apply 1 year in advance and the application fee is 90€.
Belgium
The annual cost of a master's degree at Howest University of Applied Sciences is €7,100. Monthly living expenses including rent is €650. Also, the hourly wage in Belgium is €15 per hour. The representative told me that he had lived there himself and that he did not need to learn Dutch while living there, English was enough.
France
The cost of education is 3.750€ per year and living expenses are 850€ per month. The representative here told me that I need a minimum of B2 level English as an application requirement.
Dubai
The annual tuition fee is 13.700€. The representative here asked for my contact details to get back to me about the department I am interested in, so I didn't learn much yesterday.
Australia
The annual cost of education ranges between 35,000-40,000 Australian dollars. It is one of the most expensive education but can be paid in installments. I learned that the average cost of living announced by the Australian government is 1750 dollars, and the hourly wage is 25 dollars, so you can earn 3,000-4,000 dollars. In this country, visas are accepted more than in other countries because as you can imagine it is extremely expensive😅
Canada
The annual cost of education varies between 18.000-20.000 Cad, Canadian dollars, depending on the department, but Canada is not a very affordable country. Monthly expenses are between 2.500-3.500 Cad. When you start a 2-year program, it is possible to get a 5-year visa with a +3-year residence permit. The hourly wage here is at least 15 Cad and this amount can go up to 35 Cad in job advertisements looking for master's graduates.
One of the things that was suggested to me was to join certificate programs because of the high cost of a master's degree. These were 1 year-long courses and the price was a bit more affordable, but in general, there were certificate programs in business administration and so on. I had a hard time finding training in specific fields, the training I found was 18.700 Cad. It is easier to get a certificate in business subjects. In Canada, the price ranges between 5.000-10.000 Cad. 1-year certificate program + 1 year residence permit, 2 years visa can be obtained in total.
In addition to all this information, I would like to emphasize in capital letters that you must have a very good command of English.
It is almost impossible to get a visa approved and accepted without getting a score like IELTS 6-6,5. So don't be surprised if you see me sharing posts about my English studies in the coming days 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
At the entrance of the fairgrounds and near the fair gates, there was a continuous supply of coffee. It was good that there were coffee and break areas because when I got tired of the crowds and noise, I bought a filter coffee.
I found an armchair and a coffee table. As soon as I did, I took notes of the meetings I had had, marked the numbers of the tables I wanted to stop by, took a breath, and went back to the fairgrounds.
The crowd sometimes increased and sometimes decreased, but the noise was constant and there were even queues in front of some tables. I waited in line for a few minutes most of the time, but within 2-3 hours I finished meeting with the people I wanted on the topics I was interested in. I bought various brochures and cards and brought them all home.

Selamlar arkadaşlar, dün Study Expo'nun düzenlediği ve farklı ülkelerden gelen toplamda 39 ayrı kurumun katıldığı yurtdışı eğitim fuarı için Taksim/İstanbul'daydım. Yaklaşık 5 saat süren ve onlarca misafirin ağırlandığı bir etkinlikti. Öncelikle düzenleyen ve orada bilgiler vermek için bulunan kişilere buradan teşekkür etmek istiyorum.
25 Şubat Cumartesi günü Taksim, InterContinental otelde düzenlenen fuar, 26 şubat pazar günü de Kozyatağı, Hilton otelde düzenlendi. Ben sadece Taksim'dekine gidebildim. Fuar ücretsizdi ve online davetiye almak yeterliydi.

InterContinental oteline vardığımda beni fuar alanına yönlendirdiler. Online davetiye kodumu söylediğimde herkese verilen bir karton çanta ve fuar detaylarını içeren bir rehber verildi. İlk bir kaç dakika etrafı dolaştım. Burası büyük ve kalabalık bir salondu.
1'den 39'a kadar numaralandırılmış masalarda 2'şer tane temsilci bulunmaktaydı. Masaların önlerinde de konuklar için 2 tane sandalye vardı. Her bir numara farklı bir okulu ya da kurumu temsil ediyordu.
Amerika, İngiltere, Kanada, Avustralya, Almanya, Fransa, İsveç gibi ülkelerde dil eğitimleri, lisans, yüksek lisans, yaz okulu, diploma ve sertifika programları hizmetleri veren yerler hakkında bilgi almak için harika bir fuardı. Ben de ilgilendiğim konularda çeşitli bilgiler aldım. Biraz sonra sizlerle paylaşacağım. Şimdi, ilk kez geldiğim bu otelde ilgimi çekten tabloları ve diğer şeyleri göstermek istiyorum.
Fuar alanındaki ışıklandırma için kullanılan bu avizeler çok hoşuma gitti, kameram pek iyi çekmedi ama bu avizeler etrafı gayet iyi aydınlatıyordu. Ayrıca otelin bir çok yerinde çeşitli tablolara denk geldim. Hemen hepsinde ortak desenler olsa da kapalı mekanlarda farklı tablolar kullanılmasını beğeniyorum.
Ben üniversite mezunu olduğum için yurtdışında yüksek lisansla ilgili bilgileri merak ettim. Şimdi sizlere ülkelere göre değişen "Yüksek Lisans" eğitim masrafını ve "aylık" yaşam masrafları hakkında bilgiler vereceğim.
İsveç
Senelik eğitim masrafı 12.000€, aylık gider 800€. Ayrıca 1 sene önce basvurmak gerekiyormuş ve başvuru ücreti 90€ imiş.
Belçika
Howest University of Applied Sciences adlı üniversitede yüksek lisansın senelik masrafı 7.100€. Kira dahil aylık gider 650€. Ayrıca Belçika'daki saatlik çalışma ücreti15€ imiş. Buradaki temsilci kendisinin orada yaşadığını ve yaşadığı süre içerisinde Flemenkçe dilini öğrenmesine gerek olmadığını İngilizce'nin yeterli olduğundan bahsetti.
Fransa
Senelik eğitim masrafı 3.750€ , aylık gider 850€. Buradaki temsilci bana başvuru şartı olarak minimum B2 seviye İngilizce gerektiğini söyledi.
Dubai
Senelik eğitim masrafı 13.700€. Buradaki temsilci benim ilgilendiğim bölümle ilgili dönüş yapmak için iletişim bilgilerimi istedi o yüzden dün fazla bir şey öğrenemedim.
Avustralya
Senelik eğitim masrafı 35.000-40.000 Avustralya doları arasında değişmekteymiş. En pahalı eğitimlerden biri ama dönem dönem taksitle ödenebiliyormuş. Avustralya hükümetinin açıkladığı ortalama gider 1750 dolar, ve saatlik çalışma ücretinin 25 dolar olduğunu öğrendim. Yani 3.000-4.000 dolar kazanılabiliyormuş. Bu ülkede vizeler diğer ülkelere kıyasla daha çok kabul ediliyormuş çünkü tahmin edeceğiniz üzere aşırı pahalı😅
Kanada
Senelik eğitim masrafı 18.000-20.000 Cad, Kanada doları arasında değişkenlik gösteriyor bölüm bazlı olarak fiyatlar çok değişiyor ama Kanada'da çok uygun fiyatlı bir ülke değil. Aylık giderler de 2.500-3.500 Cad arası. 2 senelik bir bölüme başlayınca +3 yıl oturum izni ile 5 yıllık vize almak mümkün oluyormuş. Buradaki saatlik çalışma ücreti de minimum 15 Cad master mezunu olunca bu tutar 35 Cad üzerie kadar çıkabiliyor.
Bana önerilenler arasında yüksek lisansın maliyeti yüksek olduğu için sertifika programlarına katılmamdı. Bunlar hem 1 sene süren eğitimlerdi hem de fiyatı kısmen daha uygundu ama genel olarak işletme vs gibi konular üzerinde sertifika programları vardı. Spesifik alanlarda eğitimler bulmakta zorlandım, bulduğum 18.700 Cad idi. Business konularında sertifika almak daha kolay. Fiyatta Kanada da 5.000-10.000 Cad arasında değişmekteydi. 1 yıllık sertifika programı + 1 yılda oturma izni toplamda 2 yıllık vize alınabiliyormuş.
Tüm bu bilgilere ek olarak, İngilizce bilgisinin çok iyi olması şartını da büyük harflerle belirtmek isterim.
IELTS 6-6,5 gibi bir puan almadan vizenin onaylanması ve kabul almak neredeyse imkansız. O yüzden ileriki günlerde ingilizce çalışmalarıma dair postları paylaştığımı görürseniz şaşırmayın🤗🤗🤗
Fuar alanının giriş kısmı ve fuar kapısının yanında da sürekli kahve ikramı mevcuttu. Kahve ve mola alanlarının olması çok iyiydi çünkü kalabalık ve gürültüden bunalınca ben de bir filtre kahve aldım.
Bir koltuk ve sehpa buldum. Bulur bulmaz yaptığım görüşmelerin notlarını aldım. Uğramak istediğim masaların numaralarını işaretledim ve soluklanıp geri fuar alanına döndüm.
Kalabalık bazen artıp bazen azalıyordu ama gürültü sürekli devam ediyordu bazı masaların önlerinde kuyruklar vardı hatta. Ben de bir kaç dakika sıra bekledim çoğu zaman ama 2-3 saat içerisinde ilgilendiğim konularda istediğim kişilerle görüşmemi bitirdim. Çeşitli broşürler ve kartvisitler aldım ve hepsini eve getirdim.
