Hello Everyone! It's been quite a long time since my last post in CCH Community. So today, I just read that there were a contest about Memorable Events. hosted by . After read it, I got so excited to share some of memorable things that ever happened in my life, and immediately looking for some old photos on my laptop. Unfortunately, the old me are a type of person that rarely took pictures, so it's a bit hard to find any of it. But, after a little extra effort, I finally found some old picture that contain memorable event.
These several photos were taken 10 years ago on 2012 while I'm still a 15 years old boy who was addicted so much with a First Player Shooter (FPS) online game. I even ever cut my lesson and use my school tuition fee for purchase the billing on internet café and purchasing some in-game cash (please don't do things like this). Playing that game everyday make curious on how do those weapon on the game look like in real life, did it look exactly like on the game or not. I even really want to touch the weapon physically.
One day, out of nowhere, my uncle invited me to came to a Military Police Anniversary. He was working there and said that there will be a weapon exhibition, where the visitor can took picture with it. I'm getting so excited hearing about the invitation. It's kind a dream come true for me. It took 45 minutes to go there and I do remember that the road condition were so bad, there are a lot of hole along our way but that didn't stop me from getting experience holding real weapon. As soon as we arrived, we went straight to the tent where the weapons were on display, and without wasting time I immediately tried to hold the various weapons that were there. Here are some photos that I have sorted
These are pictures of me holding on a M4A1 (CMIIW). On the FPS game that I played, this weapon called as carbine or maverick, but rarely used by the player because of its high recoil. At first, I thought this weapon are heavy, but actually it isn't. I can easily lift the weapon and imitating the poses of the characters in the game. I even still remember the texture of the weapon, it feels so solid and on the hand grip the texture is a a bit rough. I guess it was designed like that to prevent slip.
As there were no ammo loaded on the weapon that I hold, I can try to pull the trigger. While pulling it, I also imaging myself in the game and aiming for the enemies xoxoxo.
This one is a picture of me holding a L115A4. This one is quite heavy. I just search about the detail on internet and found the weight is 6.8 Kg. Along with the heavy weight, this weapon also has a long physical shape (1,3 meter) which might be equivalent if it was aligned with my body back then. LOL. I also try to aiming through the scope, but I can't see the object clearly as I have near-sightedness (myopia). Besides, holding this weapon for a long time makes my hands feel sore, so I can't even make the aim steady.
On the game, we named it as magnum/sniper burung (This is term in Indonesian, which if translated to English will become bird sniper), and AWM. Since the first release, this weapon has been so popular because of its accuracy and the damage given. Most player that got shot with this weapon in game, will be eliminated directly.
Apart from trying to use these weapons, I also received various information about these weapons either through printed media or directly asking the officers who were there. The officers were very friendly and they were even the ones who let me use the weapons before I even asked for permission. Actually there a lot more pictures of me holding another various weapon. But unfortunately, the pictures are in a very low quality. Smartphone or cameras were very luxurious and expensive that time, and I couldn't afford to buy any of them. All these picture were taken from my uncle's phone, and he gives all the pictures to me as a memento.
After spending more than 1 hours on the weapon exhibition, we are heading to the main road near the field to watch the closing ceremonial. I saw many troops lined up in different uniforms which might indicate they were from different divisions. There were also some artillery and vehicles seen to envy the troops. Here I share with you some photos of them.
Even though 10 years have passed, I still clearly remember the various moments in each of these photos. That day was one of the best days that ever happened in my life, where it was like an estuary that brought together imagination and reality that had existed and I hoped in my mind.
That's all that I can share for this time. I also thanked for holding this #cch-contest, which make me to reopen the old photo archive and remind me of things that have happened in my life. Thank you for everyone who reading this post and I really hope that you enjoy it. I'm also very delight if you give some responses on the comment section. See you another post everyone!
