My Steem Journey

Steem has changed my life.

I joined Steemit in June 2017 with nothing more than the 15 SP delegated from Steemit Inc.

Prior to joining, I was feeling a bit lost and discouraged as I had tried several other social media platforms for years to promote my music without much success at all.

Shortly after starting on Steemit I received a substantial upvote on one of my music posts.
I came home from work to find that my post was around $200!
I was absolutely shocked as I never thought anything like this was possible.
At the time I had no idea what Hive account@curie was, but I was so grateful that they found my post!
That experience gave me the confidence and encouragement to continue posting my music and other creative ideas.

Along the way, I found how important and supportive communities can be.
I started weekly participation in Hive account@luzcypher's Open Mic contest which helped me grow as an artist. I received such great support and feedback from that community that it inspired me to create a radio show to highlight and celebrate the amazing musicians we have here on the Steem Blockchain.

The support I received early on from Hive account@curie also inspired me to build a curation project of my own.
For over a year now, Hive account@swelker101 and I have been hosting the Steem Creative Curation Show which promotes and curates creative posts.
Our new Hive account@steemcreative witness account will be used to further our curation efforts and continue to give back to the community which has given so much to us.

One of the most important communities to my own growth on Steemit has been Hive account@aggroed's Minnow Support Project and the Palnet Discord.
About a year ago, I was fortunate enough to receive a one month 10,000 SP delegation, thanks to Hive account@eturnerx, from what has now become MSP's Make a Minnow Initiative.

During that month of being able to help other minnows with a dolphin sized upvote, I was inspired to build up my own account and invest in Steem so that I could continue helping others after I no longer had the MAM delegation.

I have achieved more success on the Steem Blockchain than I have anywhere else before.
These experiences have changed my life and have inspired me to join the Hive account@steemcreative Witness to help others succeed.

Hive account@steemcreative Witness

Hive account@swelker101 (Shane) has been a Witness for over a year. We have decided to now combine our efforts in order to pay it forward by helping people grow and doing what we can to retain quality Steemians.

Shane is in charge of the technical side of the witness, while I take care of the curation end.

Shane is also currently learning Javascript and Python in order to bring more value to the Steem Blockchain.

Hive account@steemcreative Super Happy Fun Contest of Joy and Mayhem

• A 25 Steem Per Week Prize, but instead of submitting your own work, you will be submitting someone else's work!
  We just officially launched this contest and you can check it out Here!

Hive account@steemcreative Curation Account

• We are starting with 5,000 SP for our curation efforts which will increase over time. We have been working with some groups to keep us updated on posts that are deserving of a little love as well as searching on our own.

• We will also be starting a frontrunning trail later this week. Stay tuned for details on that.

Hive account@msp-music Curation Account

• This is the account I started under the Minnow Support umbrella that I use to curate creative posts.

Msp Music & Art Curation Contest Brought to you by Snibby the Cat

• This is the contest I've been running for 35 weeks hosted by my cat, Snibby! We give out as many upvotes as we can with the Hive account@msp-music account and award a 25 Steem Prize!

Steem Creative Curation Show

• We've been helping creative Steemians for over a year now with our weekly radio show. We promote as many posts as we can during the show and choose 10 submissions to curate using the Hive account@msp-curation, Hive account@msp-music, and Hive account@steemcreative accounts!

Steemit Musicians

• This is the show we do with Hive account@krystle where we play as many of the top-5 picks from the most recent open-mic contest. We also give away a total of 30 Steem to the listener's top 3 picks.

Minnow University Curation Show

• Shane and Isaria are joined by Hive account@aggroed on Saturday nights for this weekly show. We discuss how minnows can improve their blog, what is happening on Steem, and we once again, curate posts.

Sounds of Steem

• Once a month Hive account@swelker101 and I co-host this live music concert along with Hive account@aggroed and Hive account@krystle.
  Shane and I send 25 Steem each month to our performers.

We're bullish on Steem! We are here for the long haul as I am currently working to make Steem my full-time income. That's what's amazing about this block-chain, with working hard and being here every day, you can make your goals happen! We want to spread the word of Steem and bring in new users and content creators. We want to help usher in business and dapp developers. We want this to succeed!
