Hello everyone, welcome.
How are you all? I hope you are in good condition and always given health and happiness in every second, minute and time spent every day. I hope the same thing happens to everyone, including me. We have to wish each other good things, right?
There are many things that have happened in this decade. There are many things that we never thought about and happened, even this world has been spinning for too long and it is unimaginable. Time comes and goes, much like the money in your savings and mine. Yes, it definitely never stays for a long time.
However, there are things that always stay in the city of Bandung. Several old buildings on the famous Jalan Braga. I think this road is very famous and anyone in the city of Bandung will definitely pass it, because it is very famous like that. Braga Street is the center of the city for tourists because this area is truly unique and looks different. It is famous because it is a road that is famous for its old buildings, one of which is the building that I will discuss this time. De Majestic.
De Majestic is located on one corner of Braga Street, right in front of Starbucks Coffee. Maybe you won't notice because the building is close to another building. I noticed this building because I came out of a building and accidentally saw a quite unique building opposite. I was curious and went in, because this building was quite quiet and no one even entered the building. So, because I was really curious and thought it was an old cinema, I just walked in.
When I entered, there was no one guarding me, I immediately became hesitant because I was afraid something would happen. But, apparently there was someone in a small room and I asked if I could come in. He said fine, but there was no show today.
He also told me that this used to be the oldest cinema building in the city of Bandung, almost 100 years old. This building has been around since 1925, even before our parents were born. Yes, that guy is the same age as me and he is someone who works here. He said he was waiting for anyone who wanted to rent this building for a show. This building has been converted into a theater and performance hall, and can even be rented out for group viewings such as watching football matches broadcast on television.
This building looks very luxurious even though it is old, it is very well maintained. There are many things that are still very reminiscent of the colonial period here. For example, the outside building and the interior inside. They use a lot of simple interiors that also seem to be old.
There are lots of chairs lined up on the 1st and 2nd floors. Yes, this building has 2 quite large floors. There is a performance stage and also a projector screen on the stage. Then, there is a signature in the middle of the floor right in front of the stage which becomes very visible when you stand right on the 2nd floor.
Here, the lighting is quite dim and dark. However, you can see that on the roof right above the stage there are spotlights which are quite suitable for use. It would be great if there was a show here, but unfortunately when I was there, not a single show rented this building. very unfortunate.
Not only that, there is a room provided for meetings or a place to prepare for performances behind the stage. This place is very big with very luxurious hanging lights. I have a flashback to 1945, when Indonesia became independent. There is a lot of footage in history books that shows rooms like this in school books.
What I like the most is this part, there is a film player that is used as a display right in front of the stairs to go up to the 2nd floor. This is a very old film player. It was previously used to show films from 2000 onwards, but it can no longer be used, but has been used as an interesting spot for visitors to see. It really is a place that has a history that really projects life in the past at that time.
De Majestic is one of the places in the city of Bandung that you must visit to just see old buildings that will increase your curiosity about how your parents lived in the past. It will be interesting advice and a very impressive experience when traveling to the city of Bandung.
