Hello beautiful Sketchbook community! 🥰🎨✨
Today I want to share a very special drawing that I created with lots of love and dedication ❤️. This time, I made a pencil caricature portrait inspired by a photo of my mother 👩🏽🦱💖, someone who has always been a symbol of strength, love, wisdom, and unconditional support in my life 🌷✨.
From the moment I started sketching, my goal was not only to replicate her facial features but also to capture her warmth, kindness, and beautiful essence through expressive lines and stylized forms 🖊️💫.
💖✨ My inspiration behind this artwork ✨💖
I wanted to create something meaningful for someone who deserves all my admiration. My mom has always inspired me with her smile 😊, patience, and beautiful spirit 🌸. Art became my way of honoring her and turning emotions into something visual and memorable 🎭❤️.
✏️ Professional Artistic Process 🎨
For this caricature, I worked using traditional pencil techniques while combining realism with stylized exaggeration, a very important element in caricature illustration 📝✨.
🔹 Facial Construction & Proportions
I carefully studied the facial proportions and emphasized expressive areas such as the eyes 👀 and smile 😊 to create personality while maintaining recognizable features.
🔹 Line Work & Contours
I used soft contour lines mixed with darker strokes to define the structure of the face and clothing. This helped create visual balance and better silhouette readability ✍️🎭.
🔹 Cross-Hatching & Shading
To give depth and volume, I applied cross-hatching techniques and controlled graphite shading in areas like the neck, clothing, and facial contours 🖤✨. This allowed the portrait to gain dimension and visual contrast.
🔹 Stylized Caricature Design
Rather than going for hyperrealism, I focused on stylization by slightly exaggerating expressions and proportions while preserving her sweetness and identity 💕🎨.
And honestly… seeing her smile while drawing her made this artwork even more special 🥹💖.

¡Hola hermosa comunidad de Sketchbook! 🥰🎨✨
Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes un dibujo muy especial que hice con muchísimo cariño ❤️. En esta ocasión realicé una caricatura a lápiz basada en una foto de mi mamá 👩🏽🦱💖, una persona que representa amor, fortaleza, ternura y apoyo incondicional en mi vida 🌷✨.
Desde el primer trazo mi intención no fue solamente copiar sus rasgos, sino también transmitir su esencia, su dulzura y esa sonrisa tan bonita que siempre ilumina todo 😊💫.
💖✨ La inspiración detrás de este dibujo ✨💖
Quise crear algo especial para alguien que merece toda mi admiración. Mi mamá siempre ha sido una inspiración para mí 🌸💞. Su sonrisa, su paciencia y su forma de enfrentar la vida me motivaron a convertir una simple fotografía en un retrato artístico lleno de emoción 🎭❤️.
✏️ Proceso artístico profesional 🎨
Para esta caricatura trabajé utilizando técnicas tradicionales de lápiz, mezclando elementos del retrato con un estilo caricaturesco estilizado 📝✨.
🔹 Construcción facial y proporciones
Analicé cuidadosamente las proporciones del rostro y decidí enfatizar áreas expresivas como los ojos 👀 y la sonrisa 😊, buscando mantener su identidad mientras añadía personalidad artística.
🔹 Trabajo de línea y contornos
Utilicé líneas suaves junto a trazos más oscuros para reforzar contornos, estructura facial y vestimenta ✍️🎭, creando un mejor equilibrio visual.
🔹 Sombras y tramado (Cross-Hatching)
Apliqué técnicas de sombreado con grafito y tramado cruzado (cross-hatching) especialmente en el cuello, ropa y algunas zonas del rostro para aportar profundidad, volumen y contraste 🖤✨.
🔹 Diseño caricaturesco estilizado
En lugar de enfocarme únicamente en el realismo, opté por un estilo caricaturesco donde exageré ligeramente ciertas expresiones y proporciones manteniendo su esencia y belleza 💕🎨.
Y sinceramente… mientras dibujaba su sonrisa, sentía que este retrato se volvía todavía más especial 🥹💖.
