Este libro nos narra la historia de Louisa Clark, la cual luego de perder su trabajo en una cafetería comienza a trabajar para la familia Traynor, cuyo hijo William el cual es un exitoso empresario, sufre un accidente que lo deja tetrapléjico, luego de esto Will pierde las ganas de vivir y decide terminar con su vida mediante la eutanasia, pero antes de esto sus padres le piden que espere 6 meses para hacerlo. Bernard y Camilla Traynor contratan a Louisa con la esperanza de que su hijo abandone la idea de la eutanasia, al principio Louisa no lo sabía, pero cuando se da cuenta de esto, decide ayudar a Will a cambiar de opinión al respecto.

A medida que avanza la historia, Louisa y Will se hacen amigos, aunque al principio él estaba muy malhumorado con ella. Con la ayuda de Nathan, quien es un enfermero que ayuda con los cuidados de él, comienza a investigar diferentes terapias y actividades que podría realizar con una persona con la condición de Will. A medida que pasa el tiempo una historia de amor nace entre Lou y Will, Lou hace los dias de Will más felices y Will anima a Lou a probar cosas nuevas. Es triste que a pesar de haber encontrado el amor en Lou, Will igualmente decida terminar con su vida. A pesar que esta novela fué bastante polémica por supuestamente "promover la eutanasia" es realmente hermosa, la historia de amor de Will y Lou es bastante tierna y aunque a mi me hubiese gustado que el no acabara con su vida, fué hermoso todo lo que vivieron juntos.

Although this novel was quite controversial for supposedly "promoting euthanasia" it is really beautiful, the love story of Will and Lou is quite tender and although I would have liked him not to end his life, everything was beautiful. they lived together.
En el año 2016 fué estrenada una pelicula basada en el libro protagonizada por Emilia Clarke y Sam Claflin, la cual también es muy bonita aunque, tiene varias diferencias con el libro siendo una de las más notorias la exclusión de la hermana de Will de la pelicula, y aunque es un cambió que no molesta ya que su personaje no aporta nada a la historia, está presente en el libro.
In 2016, a movie based on the book starring Emilia Clarke and Sam Claflin was released, which is also very beautiful, although it has several differences with the book, one of the most notorious being the exclusion of Will's sister from the movie. , and although it is a change that does not bother since his character does not contribute anything to the story, it is present in the book.
Otras notables diferencias son por ejemplo la verdadera relación entre los padres de Will, ya que mientras en la pelicula su relación va bien, en el libro es todo lo contrario ya que incluso el padre de Will le es infiel a su esposa. También la omisión de escenas algunas muy bonitas como cuando Will y Lou van y se hacen un tatuaje, y otras no tanto como el abuso sexual que sufre Lou en el laberinto. En la pelicula sólo se incluyó la parte dónde Lou lleva a Will al hipódromo, lo cual Will odia en el libro.
Other notable differences are for example the true relationship between Will's parents, since while in the movie their relationship is going well, in the book it is the opposite since even Will's father is unfaithful to his wife. Also the omission of some very nice scenes like when Will and Lou go and get a tattoo, and others not so much like the sexual abuse Lou suffers in the labyrinth. Only the part where Lou takes Will to the racetrack was included in the movie, which Will hates in the book.
Si me dan a escoger, diría que el libro es mucho más lindo que la pelicula. La historia es mucho más amplia y detallada, mi parte favorita es cuando Lou invitó a Will a su cumpleaños, y cuando ella abrió sus regalos, el de su novio no le gustó porque lo hizo pensando en él, pero Will recordó cuando le habló de los calcetines de abeja que amaba de niña y decidió regalarle un nuevo par. Fue hermoso porque Will la hizo muy feliz. Esta parte muestra lo hermoso que es cuando un hombre realmente escucha a una mujer y realmente se preocupa por hacerla feliz. Este libro es uno de mis favoritos el cual he releído varias veces, y me gustaría mucho recomendarlo a todos aquellos lectores amantes del romance que todavía no conozcan esta historia, les prometo que no se arrepentirán de leerlo, es una historia inolvidable que querrán leer una y otra vez.
Given a choice, I'd say the book is much prettier than the movie. The story is much more extensive and detailed, my favorite part is when Lou invited Will to his birthday, and when she opened his presents, her boyfriend's she didn't like because she did it thinking of him, but Will remembered when she told him about the bee socks she loved as a child and decided to get her a new pair. It was beautiful because Will made her very happy. This part shows how beautiful it is when a man really listens to a woman and really cares about making her happy. This book is one of my favorites which I have reread several times, and I would very much like to recommend it to all those readers who love romance who still do not know this story, I promise you that you will not regret reading it, it is an unforgettable story that you will want to read again. and again.
