Being a member for almost 8 months here on Steemit, I had witnessed a lot of drama. There has been a lot of issues that needs to be resolved, or sometimes it lies with those members who are making issues. It's part of the atmosphere of the website, and some people cares so much while others do not.
One of the issues being often discussed is bidbots. I know many people are into it, while others reject it. Sure enough, it has its advantages and disadvantages. It cannot be denied that you are investing money into it. But the price of Steem and SBD are fluctuating, so it's either win or loss. I admit of using them but at minimal amount from $0.3-1. I have nothing against those using bidbots, and it's everybody's prerogative. If some members with bigger accounts are willing to give their upvotes, do you think there will be bidbots and people will spend their money for them? I bet not. But some are very critical and even imposing punishment for those who are bidding despite the quality of the post.
Spammers, scammers, and hacking/phishing
These three is one of the problems in the community. Others are abusing through their comments and posts. It's annoying to see such generic comments. Good thing there's . But what has bothered a lot of Steemians are the scammers who are all over offering something, and the dangerous ones, hackers and phishers. In fact, some of my friends got their accounts hacked! So make sure not to click on the links posted on your account, keep your passwords safe, and check the URLs because what you think is Steemit is actually steewit or sleemit.
Whale wars
This is a never ending war. It happens to bigger people. Well, it is not helping the community. It is even hurting smaller accounts. Unsure if it will ever stop, but accept the fact that it exist like in any other communities.
Issue of self-voting
Some people doesn't want self-voting. Sorry if ever you got offended of my self-votes. But it's everyone's prerogative unless it was used for spamming. But wait, funny how some are declaring they are not self-voting, but they are using other account of them with big SP to upvote themselves. Wait, there's more. They are not self-voting but they are paying bidbots to vote their post.
Group hating another group
This happened and some groups still does. I witnessed how some leaders hates on another group, which is not really doing anything. A bigger group was even demonized towards their members thus created walls to avoid that group only to find out that it's not true.
More issues
I know there's an issue on a curation team because of only one members' wrong deeds. Then some people who became beneficiaries (in a sense of being curated) are ungrateful enough to criticize the entire team just because they are not being curated anymore. Oh well, it happens and we cannot control people's thinking.
There are still great people
Let's look at the positive side. Despite all the drama and fiasco all over the Steemsphere, there are great people who are helping minnows and supports projects in silence. I know a lot of them. In fact, I had an exchanged of messages on a whale who's helping different projects but if you will look at his account, you cannot see him posting. It's because he is helping behind the scenes. Some bigger accounts has their own causes to support people and the community in and out of Steemit.
Can Steemit become a more wholesome place?
This is what everybody wants. Peace all over Steemit and just enjoys this rare opportunity. Steemit is a blessing to majority, may it not be abused and be taken cared of because its health lies to its users.
