Alago tribe comes from a part in Nasarawa state somewhere in Nigeria.
It has numerous culture and traditions which some are
Still practiced while others are abolished just because the practices affect humans generally. You can imagine when some rites are performed to the detriment of others.
Like a case where there is a delay in rainfall and the people perform some ritual rite to invoke rain to fall well if you ask me how they do that I can decide to tell you that it's all at the mercy of God that the rain falls. The ritual is done in a river they call the river of blood (opka ko Yi).
That ritual specifically is demonic and evil because it involves the use of blood I can't tell what kind of blood they use whether that of animal or that of human because then when they practice that act we were still little and they don't allow us the small children to go there.
But I can boldly stand and say the culture and traditions that are still practiced are to the benefit of mankind and can not be stopped as the continuous practice is what keeps a man going example of such culture includes farming, fishing, and hunting but as time goes by the hunting habit died gradually as civilization came into existence and people no longer go to bish in search of meat but instead go to get their meat from the market.
Farming can not stop as the method of farming keeps improving as civilization tends to bring in civilizations and improvements in technologies that have made the practice of agriculture to be consistent.
One of the cultural practices I still love is the celebration of the crossover night where we will need to dance all night the purpose is that we will all be awake to witness the new year it is usually done in the traditional with a traditional instrument.
There is a lot that will be told about these people but this is just the part I feel I should discuss.
Thanks for passing by.
