MATTHEW 26:1 -5.
1 When Jesus had finished saying all these things, he said to his disciples,
2 "As you know, the Passover is two days away —and the Son of Man will be handed over to be crucified."
3 Then the chief priests and the elders of the people assembled in the palace of the high priest, whose name was Caiaphas,
4 and they schemed to arrest Jesus secretly and kill him.
5 "But not during the festival," they said, "or there may be a riot among the people."
TOPIC: TWO DAYS AWAY
All through his life time Jesus was doing well. He healed the sick, cast out demons and raised the dead. Yet the world did not appreciate him. The religious leaders of his time were not happy with all that Jesus was doing. They conspired to arrest and kill him during the Passover, as Jesus puts it, “...The Passover is two days away and the Son of man will be handed over to be crucified (v.2).” Jesus was hunted to be killed not because he had done evil. He did well but this is how the world will pay him back. Sadly, Judas betrayed him for thirty silver coins. What a righteous suffering! Have you been persecuted or ill-treated for doing good? Some are in prison now because of the good they did to others. Be encouraged and never give up.
REFLECTION:
****It is better to suffer for doing good than evil.****
