Much better weather today than what I had yesterday only one little shower of rain no wind and no full sun as it was heavily overcast all day. Had a great time out walking on this morning's walk as I was going past the boat ramp for the lake there was this awesome old boat called Peanut.
This is Peanut.
I stopped to have a chat with the owners of Peanut and they were very friendly and also offered me a cup of tea that I gladly accepted on this cold morning. We continued to talk about ol' Peanut and found out it was built in 1955 was used to hall grog (beer) from Strahan to Macquarie heads in Tasmania Australia. Made of local timbers King Billy and Huon pine. Peanut has been restored 3 times now though still has it's original hull timbers. The top cover is new as that had rotted out from being scuttled for 3 years. Has had a newer motor fitted an 1985 OLDS type H81 of 6 hp.
Pics of motor. Notice the hand crank to start it.
And the backup motor in the cabin.
Thanks for viewing my actifit post and I hope you are having a great weekend 😁.
