Plogging for the Environment

Yesterday, me and my friend Pamela were invited to speak about the environment and arts once more at Arroyo Center at Matina Pangi, Davao City, Ph 🇵🇭

Our host is Hive account@mmysa or Rhesam "Sam". She is a very dedicated and beautiful friend of ours who share our cause for the environment.

A SUCCESSFUL EVENT

I wasn't able to take much pictures, anyway Sam will also post about it!
There were many people who took part maybe 50 and up.

They managed to collect a lot of trash in the route they took.

The location is somewhere in the City but in a more mountainous or maybe hill type location so there's a lot of nature, although it is important to stress out how these people should not throw their garbage just anywhere especially in bodies of water near them.

We were happy that we could speak about it.
Pam spoke about plastic pollution and I spoke about using art to express the reality of nature and animals and how we can save the planet by using our gifts.

This is why a few days ago I created a post about art for nature, art to express, art to protect.

After my part, I brought a handful of artworks sonI couls give them away as prizes to the groups that collected the most trash. Also,
To some question and answers prizes.

Some of my questions were:
(1) What Art can we do with trash?
Answer: we can make bags out of the plastic wrappers or juice tetra packs (like zest-o). Good idea!

(2) How do plastics harm sea animals?
Answer: (in relation to sea turtles and plastic straws) They eat the plastic and it harms them. Yes that's true! Good answer!

The Environment needs us!

I hope in some way, we can really make a difference, the earth is deteriorating faster than we are preventing its destruction.

Hopefully, the participants in this plogging activity both older and younger, will always be reminded how plastics will never be good for anyone if we do not be responsible with its use and disposal.
