Hello everyone! Before I start on my next comic art attempt I sketched Hercules again inspired by the Disney cartoon me and my son just watched together.
This time, I kind of put a play to it, what if Herc grew up in Olympus? I drew him with Zeus' thunderbolts. What ifs, why not? (And yeah, I am aware that the Disney cartoon is way way different from the mythological tales)
I started with sketching it, and here's what I came up with.
Similar outfit I just put the knee and arm pads to make it more like he's on training mode. And the medal is not really realistic since it was a Disney invention. So i took it off.
Digitalization
I'd like to think I've improved in drawing drapery but it's not up to me to say so, maybe I am more satisfied with the outcomes but not exactly anything spectacular.
I traced over the sketch however it was still super hard to copy it and apply colors and shading. There were times i felt like i got lost with all the possible blue and gray shades I could apply with the cloth. I came up with just blue shades because gray would make it totally dark. With the lightning effect, it should have a bright appearance overall rather than a dark one.
with cloudy background
I used a collage app for backgrounds because
- I had no time to make clouds
- I would probably mess up cause I can't figure out how to do it.
Maybe next time ...
Anyway here they are:
which ones look best?
Really happy about this, though this looks half baked cause I kind of feel the shadows in the body aren't complete or the cloth.
I have so many other projects I need to start sketching, I'll do it now haha
Till next time!
