I think I have one of the best hobbies ever
I discovered it a bit late in life but it came just in time.
If you really know me, you'd know I only do two things:
knows this! ๐๐๐ญ Let's look at the first one!
The story of how I got hitched with Art!
So I draw!!!
I started drawing when I was 5. I won my first art competition when I was 5 (third place though)
I didn't expect it would happen but all I knew was I was drawing two people carrying two rabbits and they just love the pets very much!
๐ I don't have a picture of it anymore. My art teacher lost it.
Growing up, I always liked drawing but I was not as fond of it until I discovered anime and online games
I never took art seriously but gradually my experiences brought me to where I am now.
I started drawing anime when I was 15 and a few years later I won City wide contest in an anime convention.
It fueled my interest even more, I once dreamt of becoming a manga artist. I made my own anime characters and stories/concepts. But it, never happened.
All throughout my relationship with ART was really on and off and it all depended on my mood.
But of course I was really aiming to go the next level. Like learning realism and I went to art classes and I finally learned.
FINE ARTS: Realism gets real ๐ญ
All the basic art I did in the past was like training for realism art I made. Basic line art and shapes, aesthetics, coloring...
My mom enrolled me to Fine arts
Although this was her idea, but I was okay with it.
Here's the school pamphlet with me on it, it's still there till this day, and that was 6 years ago? Lol
Everyday we would draw for 8 hours!!!
The habit sticks to you. I learned so many new art techniques and I fell in love with realism art.
Unfortunately I left art school and pursued linguistics. I stopped art being distracted with other things. I only draw when commissions come or when I felt emotional.
SO DRAWING OFFICIALLY BECAME MY HOBBY LATE 2016.
I was staying at home and I saw a music video of a Lion king soundtrack cover with a Rhinoceros in it. The Rhino looked so cool and majestic I searched it up and I found out that He was the Last male White Rhino on earth.
SUDAN he died a few days ago ๐
I got depressed for two weeks and from then on I persevered on drawing wildlife and thought if my art would attract people then I could spread the message.
SAVE EARTH'S ANIMALS!
Here's a giraffe I painted yesterday!
Boy hunters should be proud of endangering the ecosystem and everyone in them.
Nothing else can ever motivate me as much as they can. And
My talent and hobby couldn't be more heroic cause I do it for them!
My Hobby Challenges Me
Of course I still have problems with art making.
There's always a part in me that tells me I'm not doing good enough, I need to surpass my best output. Always.
In my free time this is all I DO, I appreciate how art challenges me to think harder.
To explore a new side, a new genre and new ways to create. Thats why to me drawing is the best hobby because people
- Easily see it and get the concept
- It's an activity I can take anywhere with me
- It challenges me to broaden my mind and extend my reach skill wise, concept wise, and aesthetically!
My Commitment to Wildlife goes on!
Plus, I also look to how I can take care and spread awareness on environmental issues.
Number 2
My second Hobby :D
My mom always talked about language and how it's very useful. Growing up we had books about foreign languages and it stuck to me.
Hopefully one day I can travel and get to use these languages.
The first three foreign languages I studied simultaneously was
- korean, chinese and spanish.
- Fujian chinese, bahasa indonesian
- Japanese
- Then german
- French, italian
- Russian
- Swahili, Arabic
- Hebrew
Currently Im learning hebrew which is so difficult yet interesting.
A simple " hi, hello! Can you help me?" Phrase is so useful in any language.
Learning the branches of language, its history, words, letters and utterances is very beautiful!
Because of this, you understand why some accents sound funny or strange or different but you learn to appreciate it and not criticize it.
You learn languages and break gaps between people, you explore and share. It brings people close together.
So these two are the best things ever!!!!
I love how learning never stops with art and language. You'll never run out of things to study, to draw, project, to say!
You will run out of time though
You'll forget to eat, forget chores, forget everything.
I get so absorbed in learning and drawing I kind of not notice anything else. Which is bad.
No social life too, just pure online and working at home.
To me it's fulfilling!
I try to create good change with whatever Art I do. I appreciate and study new languages and erase the misconceptions built by people's criticism.
Doing something you love takes your mind off people, negativity and channels it to create something.
While I'm at it, I'd like to make it as positive as I can.
It might be too late to pass this for 's contest. But I'll talk about it anyway.
I think people should have hobbies, it's where your talent lies. Everyone's got a talent.
As for me and my art and language books,
They're my ultimate life savers! โฅ๏ธโฅ๏ธโฅ๏ธ
