If the earth is flat, then it must either have infinite area OR have edges, correct?

Ok, then where are those edges? There must be mountains across all of the perimeter of the earth, else the water would fall off the sides. Also, can you explain how tides work in the flat-earth model? Can you explain why we see the sun set in the evening and rise in the morning, remaining roughly the same size in the sky until it disappears?
