Here’s today’s results of a figure drawing block in.
Greetings and salutations Everyone!
In today’s post I thought I’d share my latest drawing endeavors of this figure drawing block in I finished today.
With this master copy drawing in particular, I found it especially enjoyable in that it leaned a little more on the illustrative side than I am accustomed to.
As with any drawing of course, in the initial steps of construction I always strictly adhere to the use straight lines only. Just as my teacher told me, “Curved lines can’t be measured.”
Ultimately, the idea is that through the methodical use of straight lines, they eventually become curved on their own through progressive corrections. It’s almost like fractals if you think about it you know? The smaller forms are subordinate to the larger forms.
In the case with this drawing, I happened to notice that I broke down these smaller forms a little faster than I am used to...hence the more illustrative quality.
I am uncertain as to the origins of this drawing, but you could definitely tell that it has a pre-raphaelite influence!
This block in was of course done on paper and with a mechanical pencil with an HB lead.
Please feel free to let me know what you think?
Thanks for reading Everyone!
