It is an exciting atmosphere here on social media as many Ugandans give contrasting opinions about the upcoming social media tax which will commence tomorrow 1/07/2018!!
I have read of how many folks have are complaining how it ain't fair to tax social media and also how many have installed multiple vpns hahahaha.
The whole of my Facebook feed is filled up with complaints of the upcoming social media tax which is taking effect tomorrow!
It is fascinating to note that the tax is 6000 Ugx(1.56 Usd)!!,that is half a dollar for one month of tax,the government obviously will collect a decent sum!
We are all waiting what will happen at the clock of midnight today and see how this whole procedure will be done!
I have read docs online stating how it will be effected,we are supposed to pay daily over a service we call mobile money here as below.
Payment, according to the statement, can be made via mobile money 18525# for Airtel, and 16525# for MTN. The tax is 200 shillings and can be paid daily, weekly (1400), or monthly (6000).

I see this tax thing as an opportunity to reignite our promotional activities here in Uganda.
