Today's blog is a special one. Last Sunday we celebrated Annual ceremony of Urs celebration of Pir Dada Mian Muhammad Wirali sb.
Dada Mian Muhammad Wirai sb was a famous sufi saint of our area Pai Khel. His tomb is situated at Pai khel hills. Pai khel is my nativa village which is located in district Mianwali province Punjab of Pakistan.
Urs is a word of urdu language that means marriage. But here it means anniversary of a sufi saint.
We celebrate Urs rituals every year with zest and zeal. We pay homage, offer fateha and arrange a religious program on this day. We cook a special meal beef curry on this day and invite poor, needy and orphans children of the society. We also invite adult, old men , young men and women on this special day.
We invite a religious scholar who delivers a speech on the topic of importance of sufi saints services to sprad Islam. Sufi saints spread Islam by love, peace and brotherhood. They were true Muslims. They never tried to spread Islam with weapons. They were true well wishers of Muslims.
Pir Dada Mian Muhammad Wirali sb was also one of the famous and notable sufi saint of our area. He belonged to Malik family.
All our family members were well dressed. My daughters Javeria Javed Khan and Shehrbano Khatoon also wore wonderful dresses on this sacred day. Look at their dresses in the pictures below. They were looking very beautiful. Their smiles were treat to watch. I like the way they were dressed up.
The second pase of this Urs celebration was to cook beef curry for visitors. We hired a special cook who cooked beef curry. He is an expert cook. His name is Kamra and he is our family cook. We asked him to prepare thin beef curry because Urs beef curry is always very thin and special one. Believe me the taste of beef curry was matchless.
We hire special persons who prepare big bread (we call it roti in urdu language). This traditional big bread is prepared either on the occasion of merriage ceremonies food or on the occasion of Urs Mubarak. This is made of wheat flour. Pure wheat flour big bread is made on this sacred occasion.
Beef curry was ready to serve. We asked some boys to help us in serving. So they came and we started serving people. Beef curry was very delicious and people were veryanxious to eat to eat the desired meal. Look at the beef curry in the pictures below. We took beef curry in some olates and started serving.
I missed tking picture when people were busy in eating beef curry. We organised a religious gahering and invited aa scholar to deliver a speech on the importance of sufi saint. Molana Mehboob Elahi delivered a wonderful speech on the importance of sufi saint Mian Muhammad Wirali sb Pai Khel. At the end of mehfil people ate beef curry and enjoyed a lot. This holy gathering ended at about 12 PM.
