Después de más de un mes sin Fórmula 1 finalmente esta retornó a Miami en un premio que la verdad a mi en lo particular no me gusta mucho. Como saben la razón del parón fue motivado a los conflictos en el medio oriente por lo que ni Bahréin ni Arabia Saudita se pudieron correr. Ahora tenemos otro parón de 3 semanas pero este si es simplemente por el calendario para volver el 24 de mayo a Canadá. Había mucha expectativa con este premio y es que aparentemente iban a haber cambios, y los hubo, en el reglamento para que así las carreras fueran más orgánicas y mucho menos dependiente de las benditas baterías eléctricas que tanto están siendo criticadas por quitarles vistosidad a las carreras.
After more than a month without Formula 1, it finally returned to Miami for a race that, frankly, I don't particularly like. As you know, the reason for the hiatus was the conflicts in the Middle East, which meant that neither Bahrain nor Saudi Arabia could be included in the races. Now we have another three-week break, but this one is simply due to the schedule, with the race returning on May 24th in Canada. There was a lot of anticipation surrounding this race, as there were apparently going to be changes—and there were—to the regulations to make the races more organic and much less dependent on the blessed electric batteries that are being so heavily criticized for detracting from the spectacle of the races.
La verdad es que Miami y como ya dije a pesar de ser un circuito que no es de mis favoritos terminó siendo una carrera mucho más humana que las tres anteriores en donde se vió más manejo y dependencia de los pilotos, los sobrepasos fueron motivados por la pericia de cada uno y que al final en la carrera de ayer pasó absolutamente de todo lo que hizo que la misma fuera bastante entretenida, acá no se vino a mentir. Una de las cosas que estaban pasando en las últimas carreras es que el dominio de Mercedes estaba siendo abrumador, no había equipo que le pudiera competir (Ferrari por momentos) pero parece que cambió un poco y es que tanto en la carrera sprint como en la principal se comenzaron a ver cosas distintas.
The truth is that Miami, as I already mentioned, despite not being one of my favorite circuits, ended up being a much more human race than the previous three. There was more driver skill and a greater reliance on the drivers, and the overtaking maneuvers were driven by individual expertise. In the end, yesterday's race had absolutely everything imaginable, making it quite entertaining—nothing was ever truly fun. One of the things that had been happening in recent races was Mercedes' overwhelming dominance; no team could compete with them (Ferrari at times, though). But it seems that's changed a bit, and we started to see different things in both the sprint and main races.

McLaren ha vuelto al ruedo. El equipo papaya llevó a Miami un paquete de actualizaciones importantes que les permitieron poder competir como ellos estaban acostumbrados a hacerlo. Ganaron la clasificación y la carrera Sprint y también terminaron el podio de la principal junto con Antonelli. Lando Norris fue el que mejor se vio entre los dos pilotos demostrando dominio durante todo el fin de semana. En la carrera siempre estuvo "pisándole los talones" a Kimi con un muy buen ritmo, incluso llegó a estar liderando el premio por varias etapas. Y es que esa es la clave, el bendito ritmo que por fin parece haber llegado a los autos de color naranja. Obviamente eso es algo que los otros también harán pero es bueno volver ver competir a McLaren.
McLaren is back in action. The papaya-clad team brought a significant upgrade package to Miami, allowing them to compete at their usual level. They won qualifying and the Sprint race, and also finished on the podium in the main event alongside Antonelli. Lando Norris looked the better of the two drivers, demonstrating dominance throughout the weekend. In the race, he was always right on Kimi's heels with a very good pace, even leading the race at several stages. And that's the key: the blessed pace that finally seems to have arrived in the orange cars. Obviously, the others will also achieve that, but it's good to see McLaren back in action.
En Red Bull también hicieron la tarea y es que el RB22 pareciera que volvió a la vida. En Japón la gente de la escudería no entendía muy bien que pasaba con el auto, era uno inmanejable con el que Verstappen no estaba nada cómodo y es que la inconformidad de Max era muy notoria y pública. A pesar de que todavía tienen cosas por resolver ayer se le vio muy bien al cuatro veces campeón del mundo, salió de segundo, por un cambio de neumáticos terminó de 16 para finalizar la carrera de 5to y ser el piloto del día. Compitió con los de arriba y nos dio buenos pasajes con los Ferrari y Mercedes. Y es que como dije, algo que se extrañaba eran esas peleas por posiciones que ayer se volvieron a ver de una forma más "natural".
Red Bull also did their homework, and the RB22 seemed to have been brought back to life. In Japan, the team didn't quite understand what was wrong with the car; it was unmanageable, and Verstappen was clearly uncomfortable with it. Max's dissatisfaction was very noticeable and public. Although they still have things to work out, the four-time world champion looked very good yesterday. He started second, dropped to 16th after a tire change, and finished the race in 5th place, earning him Driver of the Day honors. He competed with the frontrunners and gave us some great moments with the Ferraris and Mercedes. As I said, something that was missed were those battles for positions, which we saw again yesterday in a more "natural" way.

De forma más general decir que lo de Ferrari fue lamentable, otra vez. Leclerc se fue penalizado con 20 segundos por sobrepasar los límites de pista después de su choque pero es que antes de eso había sido perjudicado por las decisiones estratégicas del equipo. No sobresalió Ferrari en Miami, El que si lo hizo fue el argentino Colapinto quien culminó séptimo después de la sanción de Leclerc. La verdad es que el piloto de Alpine tuvo un muy buen fin de semana, al fin los franceses tienen un auto medianamente decente y eso lo demostró el joven Franco. Pero bueno, la guinda del pastel fue lo que hizo Kimi Antonelli quien lleva tres carreras seguidas ganadas y se está posicionando como el piloto principal de Mercedes, cosa que me alegra porque Russell no es santo de mi devoción. La gran carrera del italiano fue brutal, ayer ganó con creces superando a pilotos de McLaren, Ferrari y al propio Verstappen. Es verdad que las salidas parecen no ser su fuerte pero lo que importa es como te recuperas después. Con esto Antonelli sigue liderando el campeonato con 100 puntos. Veremos hasta donde llega el joven italiano.
More generally, Ferrari's performance was lamentable, once again. Leclerc was penalized 20 seconds for exceeding track limits after his crash, but before that, he had already been hampered by the team's strategic decisions. Ferrari didn't stand out in Miami. The one who did was the Argentinian Colapinto, who finished seventh after Leclerc's penalty. The truth is, the Alpine driver had a very good weekend; finally, the French have a halfway decent car, and young Franco proved it.
