THIS WEEKS WINNERS ARE:
There were a few Contestants worthy of recognition! But first...
First Prize Winner
For this epic entry: https://steemit.com/steemitsandwichcontest/@bleedpoet/steemit-sandwich-contest-week-27-the-steemer
Well, this entry is all kinds of gross on soooo many levels... Even prior to diving into the entry we immediately catch a glimpse of the sandwich next to an umbilical chord, sooo ewww (yea I know ppl eat this lol).
This crusty, over-toasted sandwich doesn't appear to be so appalling at first glance, considering it's difficult to tell what the ingredients are initially, however, once we dive a bit deeper we begin to see signs of it's true abomination (in a good way of course given the theme).
Canned Haggis... Enough said I believe. Haggis in general looks and IMO tastes disgusting lol.
Snails... I actually like snails when done right, however, these do not appear to be done right lol....Oh man, they just appear to add to the grossness of this sandwich plus, ewww the texture must have been sickeningly soft and chalky between the two.
The kicker is the pickled egg. On their own, they can be really good or really bad and in this case, I cannot see how adding a pickled item of any sorts never mind an egg, could make this a more bearable or edible sandwich.
Points for creativity in the upside down pictures heh, and the overall chaotic and messy vibe of the entry itself.
Video proof of eating said sandwich was difficult to watch and the suffering went on far too long haha. Glad you threw the rest out my friend, however thank you for entertaining us by showing that it was indeed edible despite the obvious cost to your health and possibly bathroom time immediately following.
All in all, I believe that we can collectively agree that this was the epitome of a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad and ugly sandwich.
Second Prize & the new Week 2 Veto Vote Holder:
This is what our week 27 Veto Voter had to say about this entries
- "With the theme "Jaybird's Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad, Ugly Sandwich", there were a lot of great entries this week!
was one of the first contenders this week, and he did an excellent job right off the bat! While "she ain't pretty", I think this one would actually taste good. I can tell he put a lot of love into this sandwich by making his own dough. Also, props for including a picture of you taking on that sauce drenched bite! Congratulations
for winning this week's second place prize! I hope you got all of that sauce out of your beard..."
Our 3rd Prize Winner For Steemit Sandwich Contest was chosen by me and goes to [Big Drum Roll]
Clearly an overwhelming amount of effort went into preparing and putting together not only this interesting display of a sandwich, but also the entire entry. It's filled to the brim (all be it wayyyyy too long lol) with storyline, cooking advice and thought process ramblings heh. Entrertaining throughout at least ;)
Entry on the whole is clean and organize and some great pictures of the work being done. I don't believe we've ever witnessed a sausage undergoing foodie-acupuncture and then ending up in a sandwich looking like some kind of sea creature in SSC history, so points there.
All in all, a great debut to SSC!
CHALLENGES OF SSC [NOW CLOSED] & RECORD HOLDERS
Congratulations to
for crushing the just previously smashed record for SSC Challenge 1
Congratulations to
for also crushing the record for SSC Challenge 2
Holy Shit...I didn't think anyone would ever touch these, never mind 2 weeks in a row
SSC is getting bigger and as a result, I'm shutting down the challenges portion. The Record Holders names will forever be engraved in SSC history!
[Challenge 1] More than 15 entries in a single contest week
[Challenge 2] More than 5 different entries with same main ingredient (ie Beets)
[Challenge 3] More than 5 different entries inspired by the same movie theme (ie Star Wars)
All I have to say is the usual "bravo to all the contestants this week."
Featured Entries: (I will for the most part only be featuring the "Outstanding Achievement" winning entries in this section)
- Well....her attempt at make something terrible & ugly (which I wasn't convinced she could do from the very start lol) was somewhat successful. Those of you who know Sfoodie know that she is an impressive sandwich (and all around food) artist! Although her ingredients this week fit the bill nicely, being kinda gross and all, none of her sandwiches actually looked all that bad or unappetizing lol. So this outstanding achievement prize goes to her for making ingredients that are normally unappetizing look desirable!
- Well, this one definitely captured the theme nicely, Blood Sausage and some kind of potatoe like root veggie that takes on the taste of all it touches was pretty much bang on. Loved the picture of her eating it at the end. There were a few troopers who showed us they were committed to their sandwich all the way no matter how it turned out and that deserves recognition given how some of them turned out...hahaha
- Last but not least, another SSC participant stepping up to the plate these past few weeks! Visually mortifying this piece encompassed all of the describing words of the theme nicely. There was some creative artistry used in crafting this one that really deserved to be recognized!
SELECTING WINNERS!
: I select the winners based on a variety of parameters. Just do your thing and have fun with it. I'm considering many factors such as presentation, ingredients & originality, creativity, community opinion & artistic ability just to name a few. PLEASE make sure to follow the rules! They are easy to follow and help prevent the tragedy of Null entries!
There are now 3 prizes. First Prize = roughly 50% of the prize pool
Second Prize dubbed the "Veto Vote" = roughly 30% of the prize pool + the honour of selecting the following weeks second prize winner. This prize is ideally given to an entry that although it did not win the contest, showed distinction among all the other entries. This could be a feature such as it was the community favourite, it used the most bazaar ingredients, or, it was just the best looking sandwich etc. IMPORTANT! The "Veto Vote" holder may not vote on his or her own sandwich to be selected as the second prize. However, they are still eligible to win First Prize should they enter the contest that week.
Third Prize will be roughly 15% of the prize pool
Roughly 5% of the pool goes towards the "Outstanding Achievement Awards"
Week 28's Veto Vote holder is:
and was selected by
who was week 27's Veto Vote holder. Thank you both for your participation!
IMPORTANT! "Veto Vote" holders must always present their final selection to
in confidence and allow the news to be revealed in an officially "Who Won Steemit Sandwich Contest" blog post. Deviation from this method will result in a forfeit of the Veto Vote and thus, the selection will be consider null and a new winner will be chosen by
.
Veto Voters can contact
through discord jaybird#4732 or Steemitchat username: jaybird. If for whatever reasons, the Veto Vote winner does not select an entry in the following weeks contest, I will be the default second prize selector for that week.
