THIS WEEKS WINNERS ARE:
There were a few Contestants worthy of recognition! But first...
First Prize Winner
For this epic entry: https://steemit.com/steemitsandwichcontest/@ddschteinn/steemit-sandwich-contest-week-28-entry-no-1-the-original-faux-fowl-piglet-brussel-ball-sandwich-concoction-original-photography
Another relatively new participant of SSC, (2 weeks in I believe?) coming up with some excellent sandwich work. Winning 3rd place last week & now movin' on up to 1rst with this glorious entry!
Basically if you can impress me and involve Brussels Sprouts... well you've got a leg up on the competition lol. In all seriousness, unless they have bacon and maple syrup I'm not too into em. However, I must admit this sandwich makes them more appealing and definitely deserves some points for the pork & b sprouts combo!
Presentation was a huge part of this entry for me. I've got to say the photos were top notch & plentiful. Each pic clearly shows the food/process and makes it look insanely fresh. The flagship photo is very good and drew me in immediately. Some good instructional info for anyone interested in recreating this gem of a sandwich and also some quacky tidbits & back story and ramblings lol.
Points for special sauce ;)
Enjoyed "I DID have to eat it with a knife and fork, but that's OK.." for sure! And also the final ingredient being -Kitchen Love lol
all in all, a great entry to SSC worthy of a prize!
Second Prize & the new Week 29 Veto Vote Holder:
This is what our week 28 Veto Voter had to say about this entries
Bru my exact thoughts! Was going to write you and vote for
, how can you say no to all those home made ingredients and the bacon!
Sadly due to some technical difficulties we were not able to touch base until very close to the deadline. I had already selected this entry as second place in my mind (while trying to channel my inner surfer) so it was absolutely hilarious to get an email last minute from our veto voter saying that this was his choice too lol. I guess great sandwich minds do think alike.
IMO this entry was also top notch. I thoroughly enjoyed the "Tower" approach used here as well as the home made black bean spread among some other great ingredient choices. There appeared to be so much genuine effort being poured into this entry that it was hard to ignore the "excitement mixed with passion and topped with diligence" that was clearly a major ingredient of this fine creation.
Pres was great too, short and sweet and finished off with bacon lol. Awesome job!
Our 3rd Prize Winner For Steemit Sandwich Contest was chosen by me and goes to [Big Drum Roll]

"You can make a sandwich out of anything..." wiser words have never been spoken... Well in the context of SSC.
I generally encourage participants of SSC to push the boundaries of what is a sandwich, and in this case, this quasi-sloppy joe.points for making a sandwich out of spaghetti, but more so for including other ingredients. For example, the fresh basil pesto & the Parmesan Crisp. I liked how many of the ingredient were prepared or altered in some way shape or form. for example, not just parmesan cheese, it had to be crisped first!
Presentation was pretty on point in this one too. All the pictures were clear n high quality. Made all the food look exceptional! Loved some of those shots of the stuff in the pan cookin'
Last but not least amazing sign ! That was awesome !
All I have to say is the usual "bravo to all the contestants this week."
Featured Entries: (I will for the most part only be featuring the "Outstanding Achievement" winning entries in this section)
- This was a solid entry. Pres was on point and I really enjoyed how he took inspiration from one of the legendary greats of SSC
and was able to create something really epic & original. Ginger Garlic Sauce sounds sooo good!
- another solid breakfast style sandwich from this budding foodie. I'm usually a big fan of anything breakfast and this simple yet effective ham, cheese & eggs sandwich was great! Fully Loaded and ft. an interesting cheese.
- A vet of SCC, she never disappoints with an interesting take on sandwiches. This weeks pizza sandwich was really great in that it had zero likeness to a pizza lol. I found it interesting how ingredients stuffed into hollowed out bread are referred to as such in some non-western countries. I also dug the tuna and olives ingredients, perhaps instead of anchovies and olives on pizza... ?
SELECTING WINNERS!
: I select the winners based on a variety of parameters. Just do your thing and have fun with it. I'm considering many factors such as presentation, ingredients & originality, creativity, community opinion & artistic ability just to name a few. PLEASE make sure to follow the rules! They are easy to follow and help prevent the tragedy of Null entries!
There are now 3 prizes. First Prize = roughly 50% of the prize pool
Second Prize dubbed the "Veto Vote" = roughly 30% of the prize pool + the honour of selecting the following weeks second prize winner. This prize is ideally given to an entry that although it did not win the contest, showed distinction among all the other entries. This could be a feature such as it was the community favourite, it used the most bazaar ingredients, or, it was just the best looking sandwich etc. IMPORTANT! The "Veto Vote" holder may not vote on his or her own sandwich to be selected as the second prize. However, they are still eligible to win First Prize should they enter the contest that week.
Third Prize will be roughly 15% of the prize pool
Roughly 5% of the pool goes towards the "Outstanding Achievement Awards"
Week 29's Veto Vote holder is:
and was selected jointly by
and
who was week 28's Veto Vote holder. Thank you both for your participation!
IMPORTANT! "Veto Vote" holders must always present their final selection to
in confidence and allow the news to be revealed in an officially "Who Won Steemit Sandwich Contest" blog post. Deviation from this method will result in a forfeit of the Veto Vote and thus, the selection will be consider null and a new winner will be chosen by
.
Veto Voters can contact
through or Steemit.chat username: jaybird or discord jaybird#4732 . If for whatever reasons, the Veto Vote winner does not select an entry in the following weeks contest, I will be the default second prize selector for that week.
