There were a few Contestants worthy of recognition, but first!
First Prize Winner
For this epic entry: https://steemit.com/steemitsandwichcontest/@carolynstahl/steemit-sandwich-contest-week-37-germany-meets-south-america-vegan-sausage
Well... What can I say. She crushed it & I appreciated the extra effort this week (I thought that last week might be the last time you would ever make bread lol).
From the home made "Arepas-esque" bread, inspired by our last weeks first prize winner
and her Mama to the vegan sausage & Sauerkraut. this entry seemed like it was bursting with flavour and texture. Love the grilled Onions and the pickled peppers too!
great little nostalgic vibe throughout and a really nice overall presentation with clear pictures and great step by step.
all In all a wonderful piece of work!
Second Prize & the new Week 38 Veto Vote Holder:

This is what our week 37 Veto Voter had to say about this entry
- 25 Steemit Sandwiches in SSC 37! Sorry been going through all of them and they are all worthy of winning prizes, but I will leave that burden to
. I will stick to my 'guns' and focus on chili orientated sandwich creations.
My veto vote has to go tojust for pulling off a total chili sandwich. I think there is enough chilli here to fuel Elon Musk's space rockets for at least one orbital trip! But I have to say, I would have given this sandwich a taste. I bet you were cleaned out after eating this one
"Steemit sandwich contest week 37: something for intrepidsurfer."
Our 3rd Prize Winner for Steemit Sandwich Contest was jointly chosen by
and myself and goes to [Big Drum Roll]

Let me start off with this wise quote: "Sandwiches, arguably the most important invention in the history of food. Easy to make, limitless possibilities and most importantly everyone likes them!" - Great opener to this debut entry From Nancy!
Colourful, excellent presentation, quick and concise! This entry and sandwich creation brough me back a few years to party sandwiches at various family events. I dig the swirly sandwich ! I also dig the ingredient combo of: avocado, sausage and peppers!
All in all A great little entry!
Featured Entries: (I will for the most part only be featuring the "Outstanding Achievement" winning entries in this section)
- One of three contestants going for the 1rst place spot this week... this entry was a gem possibly inspired by heartache. There was immense effort and passion put into this wild sandwich and it had some very interesting qualities to it such as the ingredients Comfrey and the use of cottage cheese, which isn't easy to put into just anything lol. Absolutely stunning visual pres as usual from Lizelle and of course, I really enjoyed the sandwich roll outcome!
- Another fantastic entry action packed with home made patties grilled goats cheese and a variety of fresh veggies. These sliders looked to die for!

- What I originally thought was a sea urchin was actually "stuffed Steem buns." Still a nice surprise considering they were composed entirely of leftovers. I particularly liked the wild salmon horseradish combo
(Special Mention) - Our 2nd place winner for this week made many a great entries! However, I wanted to take this opportunity to highlight just one that I thought deserved insane recognition. Not only for the month long preparation involved in its creation, but also for the inventive work and "homemadeness" of what this guy pumped out! Alan you're a crazy maniac when it comes to food, and sandwiches especially! Don't ever change :)
SELECTING WINNERS!
: I select the winners based on a variety of parameters. Just do your thing and have fun with it. I'm considering many factors such as presentation, ingredients & originality, creativity, community opinion & artistic ability just to name a few. PLEASE make sure to follow the rules! They are easy to follow and help prevent the tragedy of Null entries!
There are now 3 prizes. First Prize = roughly 50% of the prize pool
Second Prize dubbed the "Veto Vote" = roughly 30% of the prize pool + the honour of selecting the following weeks second prize winner. This prize is ideally given to an entry that although it did not win the contest, showed distinction among all the other entries. This could be a feature such as it was the community favourite, it used the most bizarre ingredients, or, it was just the best looking sandwich etc. IMPORTANT! The "Veto Vote" holder may not vote on his or her own sandwich to be selected as the second prize. However, they are still eligible to win First Prize should they enter the contest that week.
Third Prize will be roughly 15% of the prize pool
Roughly 5% of the pool goes towards the "Outstanding Achievement Awards"
Week 38's Veto Vote holder is:
and was selected by
who was week 37's Veto Vote holder. Thank you both for your participation!
IMPORTANT! "Veto Vote" holders must always present their final selection to
in confidence and allow the news to be revealed in an officially "Who Won Steemit Sandwich Contest" blog post. Deviation from this method will result in a forfeit of the Veto Vote and thus, the selection will be consider null and a new winner will be chosen by
.
Veto Voters can contact
through or Steemit.chat username: jaybird or discord jaybird#4732 . If for whatever reasons, the Veto Vote winner does not select an entry in the following weeks contest, I will be the default second prize selector for that week.
