English teams have been on a roll in this knockout round of the Champions League, so far Manchester City won 0-4 away against Basel, Tottenham got 2 away goals to put them in the driving seat with a 2-2 draw against Juventus and Liverpool demolished FC Porto 0-5 all but securing their place in the next round.
Now it is the turn of Chelsea but they may have a tough time as they face Barcelona who have been in amazing form this season. Barca are running away with their league title and the only games they have lost so far have been against Real Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup earlier in the season and then a Copa del Rey game against neighbors Espanyol.

Much of their success is down to the out of this world talent they possess up front with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, as usual they have been putting away goals for fun this season although it has been some time since Suarez actually found the net in this competition. As well as their obvious attacking credentials Barca also have an impressive record defensively too, the fact they hold onto the ball for so long it doesn't give their opponents much time to score against them and they have only let in 2 goals in their Champions League group games.
Chelsea on the other hand have not been having a great season, while they did make it through a tough group which included Roma and Athletico Madrid they sit 4th in the league and are way behind leaders Man City. Recently manager Anontio Conte has been under a lot of pressure due to embarrassing losses to Bournemouth and Watford. He has eased that a little with a win against West Brom and an FA cup victory against Hull but they will be fancing a much sterner task against the Spanish leaders.
It will be interesting to see whether Conte recalls Spanish striker Alvaro Morata or sticks with January transfer window acquisition Olivier Giroud who has got off to a good start to his Chelsea career and played a big part in their latest wins.
Barca will be without Phillipe Coutinho who is cup tied after his transfer from Liverpool in the January transfer window, but they will still be able to field a dangerous team with Ousmane Dembélé likely to make a return from injury.
