Whether you are having a party, barbeque or soiree, punch bowls will make your work easier because you can make a big-batch of cocktails for your guests to enjoy. You will also get to enjoy the party because you will not be playing bartender. I'll show you some refreshing options.
Having a party soon? Thinking about serving cocktails? Well, making punch bowls is something that will cut your work in half because it is stylish and guests can serve themselves. Punch bowls are also a great way to embellish a table and there are so many cocktails that one can serve including sangrias and fruity punch bowls. Party bowls come in many shapes, sizes and materials but they include a large bowl, a ladle and a collection of cups or glasses. Here are four simple options.
Sangria
Sangrias include fruits and wine mixed in a big bowl. Make some ice cubes with fruit juice instead of water and prepare them beforehand. Depending on the type of wine you have, mix your ingredients in a bowl. You can try using pineapples and berries and mix with sweet red wine or even white wine. Mix ingredients depending on your tastes and preferences. Some sangria recipes include sugar syrup. You can even add Cointreau and citrus fruit juice. However, ensure that the flavours balance and the presentation is great. Avoid fruits that get soggy like bananas and papaya and instead use apples, citrus fruits, pineapples and berries.
Vodka Watermelon Punch
This is the simplest of punch bowls to make. Choose a base vodka like Absolut or Smirnoff. You will need simple syrup (one part sugar and one part water), vodka, diced/ sliced watermelon, sprite and lime juice. Mix all the ingredients into a large bowl. Add sugar syrup depending on personal preference. Add ice before serving and garnish with watermelon chunks and lime wheels or kiwi.
Berry Lemonade Punch
Berries and lemon are ingredients that work together because the sweet and sour tastes work so well together. You need Grey Goose vodka (or any alternative), raspberries, strawberries, lemonade, freshly squeezed lemon and sugar syrup. Muddle the berries and add the ingredients. Stir and add lime/ lemon slices to garnish. This is a favorite among people who love sweet drinks and the colour is very appealing. Add some raspberries in the glasses before serving. This is a great drink for birthday parties or bridal parties.
The Citrus/ Berry Rum Punch
You will need Barcardi Superior Rum, lemon juice, cranberry juice, orange juice and lime juice. Mix the citrus juices in a large bowl and add the rum. Add sugar syrup if need be. Top with ginger ale, add some ice and then serve. This punch bowl can be garnished with lemon or lime slices and is a hit in many parties. Feel free to adjust this recipe to your liking. You can also do a berry rum punch as below.
