Just before pandemic, I was brought to this Island that was very unknown to me.
A friend of my bestfriend was planning to go home to Olanggo Island and asked my bestfriend to bring us along for a tour or just simply wandering the Island to spend the weekend even in a short time.
I took the chance to give my self a break from work and decided to come along. I haven't meet this people (friends of my bestfriend) yet but since my bestfriend asks me to go with her as a favor, plus I got curious about the Island, I said yes and pack my things immediately.
We went first to Lapu-Lapu and took this boat to cross the island for only P10.00 fare. Olanggo Island is just basically located across Lapu-Lapu City. It was just a 10mins ride maybe and tadaa we're here. Welcome to Olango Island!
This islet is just at the opposite side of the port. It is so small. I really was amazed.
So from the port we ride tricycle and paid 20.00 going to this camp site. I forgot the name of the place but I got surprised because we were alone, like literally. Nobody camps aside from us. We somehow own the area and happily choose the best spot to set.up our tents. This location is definitely perfect for team buildings. Wide area, peaceful and no distractions nearby like establishments or stores which I think is okay if you have all the stuff you need like food, water etc.
My beautiful subject of the day
One of my besfriend, Angelie!
I started roaming around. I just can't help appreciating the kind of peace Olanggo has and this boy is the living proof.
It so happened too that it was low tide that time and this boat and a floating cottage was at the shore awaiting for high tides to be back which they said happens every 6pm in the evening.
I also found this one little sea crab and a group of snails beside the mangrove trees.
And because we got worried and little bit scared camping alone in a very quite camp site which was really okay during daytime but when the night came, too much silence was kinda weird for us who were mostly girls. So we decided to just transfer to where my bestfriend's friend Kayla live and spent the rest of the night camping outside their house as well. The mood was still fine though. No biggie, atleast we felt safer.
Day 2 at Olanggo Island, we started our day roaming around the nearest shore taking photos.
The sea was so tempting but sadly I didn't enjoy the sea that much because of my newly rebonded hair lol what a shame but well, atleast these guys had an instant photographer to take their pics while I'm enjoying Olango's peaceful scenery.
Afterwards, we went to one of Olango's Sanctuary where I've experience crossing a floating bridge towards the floating resort/restaurant. Which I think they called, Boardwalk.
With a band to enjoy, yes. I'm not a loner atleast I got to enjoy the mood although I wasn't able to go swimming.
What I really like about Olango was wherever we go, the places we went, or passes by, people were so humble, smiley and the place is so peaceful. We totally deserve this kind of trip, an escape from the stressful city.
I hope to go back here soon and revisit these places. Also to try the rest of the sanctuaries. And if I need some air and a time to meditate, I know a fine place to go.
Til on my next trip hivers!
