If you are like me then you are all in on Steem.
You get up in the morning thinking about Steem, and you go to sleep at night thinking about Steem.
Giphy
This blockchain has more potential than any other blockchain that I can think of. I love the communities, and I love just about everything with that we have going on here.
I'm a fiction writer, but I like to stick my head out into all of the other areas of the blockchain as well.
If you read my posts, then you know that we are writing a book. Myself, and a selection of 11 other authors will be publishing a book on Amazon under the name Steem Fiction Writers on March 1st.
I love to write fiction, but I also like to blog on here. I like everything that has to do with cryptocurrency.
I have a decent-sized Steem Monsters collection. I like to do the Daily Quests, and I really enjoy the end-of-season reward cards.
I've had my hand in just about every Dapp on here that I can think of, with the exception of one.
Magic Dice.
So what is Magic Dice?
They say....
Magic Dice is a transparent and provably fair dice game on Steem.
You're essentially gambling with Steem.
I don't normally advocate gambling, but then again cryptocurrency has been a real gamble lately hasn't it?
The house has a 2% edge. If you go to the site you only have a 49% chance of winning even if you set it at 50%.
The house always has an edge, that's why they say never bet against the house.
You often hear horror stories of people losing all of the money in their bank by gambling, or by having an addiction that they simply can't get over.
Does that make gambling inherently bad? No. It just means you have to exhibit self-control. No one else is going to exhibit that control for you.
Having said that, before you get into any kind of game like this you should have a program in place. How are you going to play? What method are you going to use to try to gain money?
You should also understand one thing. If you have a 51% chance of losing a fight, and you have that fight every single day, then statistically speaking you cannot possibly ultimately win the war.
That doesn't mean you won't win the occasional scrap though.
You may have heard people talk about something called the Martingale method.
It basically operates like this. Bet $1. If you lose that bet, bet $2. If you lose that bet, bet $3, if you lose that bet, bet $4. That way you're always doubling your bet every time you lose. Statistically speaking you should eventually double your money and win.
At that point you should put away your winnings, and walk away until the next day.
Some proponents of this method see it as infallible. However, anyone that has gambled knows there's always a possibility of losing 20 different times in a row despite the 50%, or 49%, probability factor.
That means you're taking a risk by a playing.
Having said that, you don't have to play at 49% either. You can actually set the slider so that you're playing at something like 94%.
Those are much better odds, but you also win less money. It is also still possible to lose even though you have it set to 94%, so don't bet a thousand Steem that way.
My understanding is that by playing this game you will win magic coins that have a strong possibility of having real value eventually.
Magic Dice is not the only betting platform available on the blockchain.
However, it is great having it here on Steem.
I played today and I won my first hand. If you have a few Steem available, it might not be a bad idea to check it out.
I just wouldn't recommend betting more than you can afford to lose.
