I've always liked Greek and Roman mythology. Greek mythology has very much fairytale characters and monsters. Numerous Greek tales of gods were later taken over by the Romans. They almost completely took Greek deities, but they gave their names. For example, the Greek goddess of love of Aphrodite in the Romans was called Venera; and the Greek god of war Ares is Roman Mars. The goddess of bruises in Greece is Athens, and that goddess with the Romans is Minerva. Of course, there are many examples, but the most importantly is the supreme god, in the Greek it is Zeus, and in the Roman Jupiter. It is interesting that the Greeks believed that Zeus was a god of time and believed that he was just throwing lightning and thunder on the ground. Also, Zeus was considered to be a God of conscience, that is, the supreme protector of justice, which is just a proof that people believe in punishment if they feel that they have acted badly.
Unlike the Greeks, the Romans have a lot of epics from that time. I am the most interesting legend about the birth of Rome. The story says that the sons of Mars, twins Romul and Rem, come to the woods for vengeance, where the wolf helps them and gives them theirs. Because of their survival, as adults, they come to the place of every childhood and then set up a Rim.
