Hello everyone and hello to all members of the Amazing Nature community. This is my entry for the Amazing Nature Contest: FREE TOPIC - #1/5/22.
When I think of amazing nature, my first thought is of Tara mountain. For me, Tara is the most beautiful mountain in Serbia because it successfully resists human influences and is protected as a national park. On this mountain, you can enjoy the beautiful and refreshing scents of nature. The scent of the pine forest dominates and that is why it is good to breathe deeply here.
Unique natural factors have conditioned the existence of different flora and fauna. Some species live only on this mountain and nowhere else. In the summer season, you can pick very healthy forest blueberries.
Blackberries, wild strawberries, and raspberries also grow on Tara. One of the most beautiful moments I have experienced in my life is picking forest fruits on this mountain and enjoying their unique taste and at the same time the smell of the coniferous forest. That is why this place for me is an amazing nature where I like to be whenever I can. I consider it a privilege that it only takes me a few hours to get to this beautiful mountain.
When you walk through the forests of Tara, there are warnings at every step that you can meet a bear, but it has not happened to me yet and I go several times a year. 🙂 About 50 protected brown bears live on Tara. Although they are considered dangerous animals, they are more afraid of us than we are of them.
The Tara River of the same name flows here. Tara Canyon is under the protection of UNESCO, like a natural treasure important to the entire planet. There are over eighty caves in the canyon. Some are still relatively unexplored, and traces of prehistoric people have been found in some.
I would like to mention another amazing place on Tara and that is Lake Zaovine.
This lake is so clean and with very little water treatment, it is used for drinking. It is home to plant and animal species that are protected as rarities. Next to this lake, I sometimes feel like I am at sea because of the various blue and green shades of water. During the summer, the lake is very visited. It has several beaches and the water is very clean and shallow for swimming near the shore, suitable for children.
Tara is the real treasure of Serbia and I hope that it will always be protected and preserve its amazing nature and uniqueness.
