Buenas tardes querida comunidad de hive.. Ayer en la noche estuvimos viendo en familia una película llamada Not Okay, una película que desde hace un tiempo estuve interesada en ver pero no teníamos el chance hasta anoche. Les hablare un poco de la película que a pesar de ser un poco cliché, dio en el blanco con un tema que en estos últimos años ha dado mucho de qué hablar.
Good afternoon dear hive community.... Last night we were watching with our family a movie called Not Okay, a movie that I have been interested in watching for a while but we didn't have the chance until last night.
I'll tell you a little about the movie that despite being a bit cliché, hit the target with a topic that in recent years has given much to talk about.
Últimamente hemos escuchado la palabra “Influencer” ya que vemos a muchas personas ser llamadas así tanto en YouTube como en tik tok, a que voy con esto? Bueno tenemos que analizar un poco y nos dará una respuesta concreta. Así que les explico un poco la película y porque decidí hablar de este tema que para mí es realmente importante.
Lately we have heard the word "Influencer" as we see many people being called that on both YouTube and tik tok, where am I going with this? Well we have to analyze a little bit and it will give us a concrete answer.
So I explain a little bit the movie and why I decided to talk about this topic that for me is really important.

Empezamos la película con esta chica llamada Danni Sanders, una joven editora de fotos y que también es aspirante a escritora. Realmente Danni no era reconocida en ninguna parte, no tenía amigos y muy pocos seguidores en Instagram.
We start the film with this girl named Danni Sanders, a young photo editor and also an aspiring writer. Danni really wasn't recognized anywhere, she had no friends and very few followers on Instagram.
Un día en su trabajo, se encontró con el chico que le gusta llamado Colin, muy popular y amado en las redes sociales, para ella impresionarlo le dijo que la próxima semana estaría viajando a Paris a un evento de escritores principiantes, a lo cual él se mostró muy interesado y le deseo mucho éxito.
One day at work, she ran into the guy she likes named Colin, very popular and loved on social media, to impress him she told him that next week she would be traveling to Paris to an event for beginning writers, to which he was very interested and wished her much success.
Cuando llego a su departamento no sabía qué hacer, estaba desesperada porque dijo una mentira “piadosa”, así que comenzó a buscar el costo de los boletos de avión por internet y al notar lo costosos que eran para su presupuesto, pensó que podría llamar a sus padres ya que ellos eran personas con dinero, pero inmediatamente lo descarto al darse cuenta que podía tomarse fotos y editarlas en Photoshop para dar la idea de que estaba disfrutando de un magnifico viaje en Francia.
When she got to her apartment she didn't know what to do, she was desperate because she told a "white" lie, so she started to look up the cost of the plane tickets online and noticing how expensive they were for her budget, she thought she could call her parents since they were people with money, but immediately dismissed it when she realized she could take pictures and edit them in Photoshop to give the idea that she was enjoying a wonderful trip in France.
Que les puedo decir aquí ya empieza el desastre.
What can I tell you here the disaster has already begun.
Después de Photoshopear sus fotos y subirlas a sus redes empezó a ganar seguidores, lo que no se imaginaba era que hubo un atentado terrorista en Paris y las zonas afectadas fueron zonas donde ella edito las fotos. Familiares, compañeros de trabajo todos estaban desesperados por saber si se encontraba bien a lo que ella respondió que sí que estaba bien, que se salvó de haber muerto, y en vez de admitir que todo era mentira, ella prefirió callar y seguir con todo.
After photoshopping her photos and uploading them to her networks she began to gain followers, what she did not imagine was that there was a terrorist attack in Paris and the affected areas were areas where she edited the photos. Relatives, co-workers were all desperate to know if she was okay to which she replied that yes she was fine, that she was saved from dying, and instead of admitting that it was all a lie, she preferred to keep quiet and continue with everything.
Fue a un grupo de apoyo donde conoció a Rowan, una adolescente activista que estuvo en un tiroteo en su escuela, donde su hermana perdió la vida, Danni decidió hacerse amiga de ella y pedirle consejos para poder sobrellevar el trauma, a lo cual Rowan respondió que “está bien no estar bien”. Aquí comenzó el desastre de Sanders al escribir post y hashtags “Not okay” y se viralizo lo que conllevo a tener más y más seguidores. A ella no le importaba más nada, solo le importaba su vida, sus likes y que dirían las personas, no pensó en que estaba jugando con un tema serio y estamos hablando de una explosión donde fallecieron muchas personas, donde hay personas que quedaron con un trauma real y con consecuencias.
She went to a support group where she met Rowan, a teen activist who was in a school shooting where her sister lost her life, Danni decided to befriend her and ask her for advice on how to cope with the trauma, to which Rowan responded that "it's okay to not be okay". Here began Sanders' disaster as she wrote posts and hashtags "Not okay" and it went viral which led to more and more followers.
She did not care about anything else, she only cared about her life, her likes and what people would say, she did not think that she was playing with a serious issue and we are talking about an explosion where many people died, where there are people who were left with a real trauma and consequences.
Harper su compañera de trabajo tenía sus dudas acerca de ella, no le parecía real su supuesto viaje a Paris, decidió revisar la laptop de Danni (Claro no comparto la idea de revisar las cosas de los demás, la privacidad se respeta, pero se entiende por qué lo hizo) y descubrió toda la verdad.
Harper her co-worker had her doubts about her, it didn't seem real her supposed trip to Paris, she decided to check Danni's laptop (Of course I don't share the idea of checking other people's stuff, privacy is respected, but it's understandable why she did it) and she discovered the whole truth.
La enfrento y le dijo todo lo malo que había hecho, que jugo con Rowan y no solo eso, con la muerte de su hermana y la de las personas en Paris, que a ella la escucharon por ser una mujer blanca privilegiada y todavía Rowan una adolescente morena trata de que la tomen en cuenta.
He confronted her and told her all the bad things she had done, that she played with Rowan and not only that, with the death of her sister and the death of the people in Paris, that she was listened to because she was a privileged white woman and still Rowan a brown teenager tries to be taken into account.
A que voy con esto, me gustó mucho la película, cada vez que veía a Danni la odiaba más, porque así como ella hay personas llamadas influencers que se toman situaciones serias y las convierten en burla, en una estrategia de Marketing y así ganar más seguidores y más reconocimiento, hay muchos casos de chicos y chicas que se hacen llamar por ese nombre, que realizan actos a veces hasta peligrosos, a lo cual muchos piensan que como el morbo vende y obtienen más vistas pueden seguir haciéndolo y otros buscan aparentar algo para mostrar cuantas cosas tienen.
What I'm going with this, I really liked the movie, every time I saw Danni I hated her more, because just like her there are people called influencers who take serious situations and turn them into mockery, in a Marketing strategy and thus gain more followers and more recognition, there are many cases of boys and girls who call themselves by that name, who perform acts sometimes even dangerous, to which many think that as morbo sells and get more views they can continue doing it and others seek to pretend something to show how many things they have.
Pero hagamos la pregunta: Que aportes pueden hacer los influencer a la sociedad?
But let's ask the question: What contributions can influencers make to society?
Yo tengo mi punto de vista y me gustaría comentárselos, ya que un influencer tiene tanta credibilidad en redes sociales puede aportar de manera significativa un impulso para mejorar la calidad de vida, de estudios, la salud mental, tienen la capacidad para viralizar un tema en específico que sea positivo para todos.
I have my point of view and I would like to tell you, since an influencer has so much credibility in social networks can significantly contribute to improve the quality of life, studies, mental health, they have the ability to viralize a specific topic that is positive for everyone.
A veces hay algunos donde buscan viralizar modas poco sanas, donde se observan tanto a chicas como chicos imitándolas haciendo que tengan consecuencias graves en sus vidas. Hay muchas modas extremas que provocan enfermedades de salud mental y físicas. La bulimia nerviosa y otros trastornos alimenticios a veces se toman como temas tabú pero son realmente importantes y hay que examinarlos.
Sometimes there are some where they seek to viralize unhealthy fashions, where both girls and boys are observed imitating them causing them to have serious consequences in their lives. There are many extreme fads that cause mental and physical health illnesses. Bulimia nervosa and other eating disorders are sometimes taken as taboo subjects but they are really important and need to be examined.
Realmente me extendí con este tema, pero quería hablarles un poco, cada vez que vemos una película en familia,siempre hacemos como un tipo de cine foro, aclaramos dudas y hablamos de temas relacionados con la película. Y este realmente es un tema importante.
I really extended myself with this topic, but I wanted to talk to you a little bit, every time we watch a movie as a family, we always do a kind of cinema forum, we clarify doubts and talk about topics related to the movie. And this is really an important topic.
Debemos analizarnos y si alguien desea convertirse en un influencer que mejor manera que siendo un agente de cambio y ayudar a adolescentes a sobrellevar las situaciones y aumentar su autoestima de manera positiva y no permitir que se unan a ese grupo de personas que solo buscan fama y no aportan algo efectivo en la sociedad.
We must analyze ourselves and if someone wants to become an influencer what better way than being an agent of change and help teenagers to cope with situations and increase their self-esteem in a positive way and not allow them to join that group of people who only seek fame and do not contribute something effective in society.
