Hello everyone!
I welcome you to my blog.
It's funny how the one place life is assured on earth, has become a business center.
Hospitals now make more money than even companies and industries.
People now see hospital as a lucrative business, and because of that, almost everyone wants to own a hospital regardless of how unqualified the staffs might be.
Everyone is in for the money.
Is this right?
No. But then again, upon closer examination, one can understand the reason behind all these.
I've once witnessed a situation whereby an accident victim was rushed into the hospital, and the nurses ignored him because they hadn't made any payments first.
I stood and watched as the people that brought this man begged for their friend's life to be saved. But sadly, it was only after they made payment, that the victim was rolled into the theater.

When I saw this, I thought it was cruel. The most annoying thing about the situation is the fact that this was a federal hospital.
Since the hospital is Government-owned, from a specific point of view, the government should take care of the bills or better still, subsidize the bill. But no, they don't do that.
In the case of the doctors who have sworn an oath to save lives, their hands are tied most times because without the patient's payment, there'd be no salary for them.
In this part of the world, we hear news about medical personnels going on strike because of owed salaries.
This isn't even supposed to happen, because these people are needed every single day to save lives, but they can't do that happily without some kind of reward for their hard work.
For years, I kept calling doctors evil until I worked in a hospital as an IT student. It was then that I realized that these doctors and workers don't have much power, themselves.
They are all trying to survive. That is why a federal hospital doctor would own a private hospital too, and they would find ways to advise a patient to come over to their own hospital for expert management.
They do this because they want the money for themselves.
In most very developed countries, patients are not left to die because of inability to make payments. Some of these hospitals put life first, but it is quite sad that it's way too different in this part of the world.
Doctors, who should be part of the richest in the world are now reduced to nothing, causing their survival instincts to come alive.
Because of how bad and money-minded the world has become, a nurse or doctor can sit comfortably and watch a patient bleed out, simply because he can't afford to pay the bills.
It is indeed wrong that money has been placed over life, but then again, we can't blame the doctors.
They paid fees to learn their craft. They sacrificed a lot to get to that point, and it would be degrading if they get nothing in return for their contribution towards lifesaving.
If the Government had done what it was supposed to do, if leadership was as it should've been, patients would be taken care of, and doctors would be happy as well.
Because at the end of the day, a doctor has his own family to feed and take care of. If he is not paid, he wouldn't afford to care for his family.
In conclusion, the current happenings in the medical field is bad and disheartening. But we can't blame the doctors; especially the ones who work under the government. If there's no return of the money on equipments and time used to save patients, it is the doctors and nurses that take the fall.
That is why, despite the oath they swear, a doctor would always go for the money first before treatment or surgeries, especially in this part of the world.
