Daily Pet Photography Day #103 - American Kestrel (Small Falcon

Hello Steemians,

I had a wonderful day today. Work was easy and it was a beautiful day. I also was able to get a few pictures of a bird that is very rare in these parts of California. This little birdie is called an "American Kestral" which in turn is actually a "Small Falcon" - They are absolutely Beautiful Birds. This little, somewhat fearless little bird is the Smallest of the "Falcon Family".

They are carnivores and capture their prey off the ground. They are very good fliers but affected by heavy wind. The reason is that they are very small. They are about the size of a Robin or a Mourning Dove. These mini falcons habitat many different areas including, deserts, grasslands, and wooded meadows. If you ever get into any of the areas I have mentioned, I hope that one day you will be able to spot one for your own pleasure.
