Daylight fades, burnt orange transitions to umber.
Thoughts of the day, frozen like ants in amber.
Emotions sometimes raw, glow like an ember,
Aches and pains; my body no longer limber.
Embers can reignite, if blown on with the
Right breath, those forgotten paths of
Forgiveness can be limbered. A heart
Frozen in amber, will be softened
By a hug, hatred only thrives in
Shadows the shade of umber.
Sleep arrives to usher in all
Nights dreams, dreams of
An amber heart, hidden
In umber shadows, but
Illuminated by ember
Glowlight, I fade off
Into Dreamland.
