Splinterlands is a complex game, and it allows for various cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various rulesets applied, and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a great battle where I saw a battle where I took advantage of the ruleset.
Rule Set, Battle, and Plan
The rulesets this time are High Five and Explosive Weaponry. This means that only 5 monsters can be used and all monsters gain the blast ability. There is also 27 mana available, and I can use any splinter except for water or dragon.
| Splinter | Mana Cost | Position | Reason |
|---|---|---|---|
| Barthalamas | 6 | Summoner | +1 speed |
| Frankarsgard | 7 | 1st | |
| Chaos Furybringer | 6 | 2nd | Reach |
| A'lan Musketeer | 8 | 3rd | Double Strike |
| Total Mana: | 27 |
My summoner is Barthalamas for the +1 speed. I have Frankarsgard as my tank. After that is Chaos Furybringer with reach. Finally, I have A'lan Musketeer as my ranged damage dealer with double strike.
The focus of this lineup is to keep my monsters alive while dealing damage and outlasting my opponent. I am relying on the speed and damage to take out my opponent. It's a gamble, but I think that is the best chance of winning this type of match.
Round 1
At first glance, I think that this match can go either way. My opponent is focused on outlasting me, but my lineup is focused on damage and speed. I do haave a fairly decent speed advantage so it does improve my chances.
Round 4
A few rounds later, my opponent is down to 1 monster, while I still have 3. This is my win because I can't miss due to the speed advantage.
I won later that round.
Conclusion
The battle did go exactly as planned. The extra speed helped me out quite a bit in this match as it ensured that my monsters went first. By doing so, I was able to capitalize on the blast from the rulesets, and wipe out my opponent.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.
