Since the pandemic came, we have not experience the joy of the festival here in our area, especially at night at the fair. Actually, all over the world, the celebration of fiestas has been stopped due to the fact that everyone's health will be at risk. This pandemic has truly caused great sadness to all of us. I was not directly affected by not holding parties, because the truth is that I did not attend except when I was young and still bought toys, but when I found out that it was possible to hold fiesta again, I was truly happy because I also want to attend.
Last week, dad mentioned that the festival can be held again here in our area. This brought a smile to my face because it hadn't been held in almost two years. Our festival is held every October, all our barangays gather in town to share every product that is popular in their area. There are also sports such as basketball, volleyball, cycling and many others. The people here are very happy, especially the players.
One of the things that people look forward to especially during the festival is the perya at night. It is held in a place where small games, rides and gambling can be held.
Saturday night, papa invited us to go to town to attend the perya. My cousins were with us and this time, it was their first time attending this kind of event, that's why they were so happy when we invited them. Also, their class just finished so it's just right for them to have fun once at a time.
We got dressed up and went to town already. While we were going to town, I noticed that the moon was very bright and it seemed to be with us. Even if I wanted to take a picture of it, I was nervous that I might fall. So I decided to shoot it when we arrived in town. When we arrived in the town, I noticed that the sky was not that happy because the black clouds had gathered.
Dad parked a little far from the fair, you can see in the photo below. When we were at the fair, we were greeted by dazzling lights that illuminated the place as if it were not night. When we crossed the road, the first thing I noticed and offered us to buy was the popcorn vendor. You can see it in the second photo. It's been a long time since we tasted it, so I bought one for each of us.
After we passed the popcorn vendor, we went to the first game where you gamble for a peso to win various prizes like the ones in the photo below. I bet three times but had no luck so we moved to another area. I didn't bet any more and said that I would just waste my money. I didn't get any pictures because there were people around.
We went to the back to see the rides. We thought there were many, but it turned out to be only two, so no one was cheering because it was just a ferris wheel and the other one was like a boat. I wanted to take my cousins for a ride but they were scared so they didn't dare to try. Maybe you have experienced a ride like that and if we talk about the experience of those rides, mine was not good when I first tried it. I vomited when we finished riding it haha.
After we looked at the rides, we went to the food vendors in the area. The one in the middle grabbed my attention because his goods are colorful as if they are attracting passers-by to buy. I actually bought one for each of us because now we can eat cotton candy again.
An old man who sells familiar food also caught my attention and this food became my favorite when I was young, actually until now. As you can see in the photo he was selling pancakes. Again, I bought one for each of us. There are other foods as in the second picture.
Before we went home, I saw a barbeque seller, so we stopped for a while and bought some. We bought some popcorn also as a gift to my dog.
After we got home, we ate the barbeque we bought and shared the popcorn I bought with my dogs. They are very happy about it. After that we went home and rested.
Another happy memory we had with my family. So before I end my blog for today.
