For this week's challenge, I chose Sacred Unicorn. 🦄
Art Process
When someone says unicorn, the first image I see is My Little Pony 😆 But this unicorn is not built for that cartoon, haha. I browsed for different horse poses. Originally, I was going for a sleeping horse, but I want to emphasize a glowing eye. Here, I chose a simple pose. The horse is like about to charge with one leg raised. I never drew a full body of a horse so this is new to me. 😊 I mixed the lineart with the hair strand layer. 😆
I used the color-pick tool for the base colors. I used a textured brush this time. The textured brush makes an illusion of roughness. I added another layer for the occlusion shadows. The horn and hooves are the same color.
Did you know that the unicorn is Scotland's national animal? 😆
Adding shine to the hair and body. I added another layer for the shadow on the belly and legs. I added a flash of purple lightning on the horn. In the background, I airbrushed dark blue.
Final art
Added bigger bolts of lightning on the background, as well as in the eye in add glow layer. Added some glowing dots too.
Finished art🥰
