Steve Jobs, Michael Jordan, Bill Gates, Donald Trump. The last one is kind of cheating, but all four of these men are famous the whole world round and widely recognized as experts in their field – Trump is a master marketer, while Gates and Jobs built two of the world’s biggest companies, and of course, Jordan is a b-ball legend of the ages.
You? Well, you’re likely famous to your family and friends, but getting to be a true leader in your field is gonna take a little bit more. The key is deceptively simple: you need to know a lot about one thing and become the go-to expert at it.
If you’ve already picked a niche, make it that. If you haven’t, choose on and drown yourself in it until you’re living and breathing everything that niche has to offer. Of course, if you’re looking to be recognized around the world, you’ll want to pick a niche that’s popular, as not all niches are created equal 😉.
Within a large niche, it’s absolutely vital to stake your pitch and choose the sub-niche that you’re in. People are looking for leaders who are experts in their area. They want the certainty that comes with an authority literally telling them what to think; it may seem counterintuitive, but it’s the truth.
If you are able to master every little detail so that it’s in your greatest asset – your brain – you will be able to effortlessly tap into this knowledge and offer it up naturally at will. Sure, it’s hard work at first, but once it is in your mind, it stays there, and all you need to do is top it up.
Is it simple? Yes. But it’s hard work – and the rewards are well worth it. Good luck!
