The National Botanical Garden is located in Mirpur, Dhaka. The two national institutions of Bangladesh are the National Zoo and the National Botanical Garden located side by side. This national park was built in 1961 covering an area of about 208 acres for the conservation of various plant species, plant research, and plant display in Bangladesh. This well-known national park is also known as National Botanical Garden.

I have been hearing about National Botanical Gardens since childhood. So I have wanted to visit this park for a long time. Although the wait was quite long, I was lucky enough to visit Bangladesh National Park on September 10 last year. Many people do not like the place for several reasons. But my travel experience was quite good and I was impressed by the beauty of the place.

The place is really charming. There are 952 species of plants belonging to 117 genera. No one can imagine that a crowded city like the capital Dhaka has a noise-free environment surrounded by various types of plants without coming here. Some places looked like I might have moved to the Sundarbans. The entrance ticket to the botanical garden is 20BDT per person.

Entering through the main gate, you can see the huge rose garden. If you go a little further inside, you will see a beautiful road passing through the trees. And you will find some narrow roads throughout the park. The feeling of walking through the streets was amazing. Some roads have tunnels wrapped in vine leaves. Everyone is interested in taking pictures in these tunnels, due to which there is often a rush of people here.

There are several reservoirs in the botanical garden. There are also Padma Ponds, Shapla Ponds, and Common Ponds. When you sit in front of the pond, you feel a little poetic. Since the botanical garden is spread over a huge area, it will take you a lot of time to explore the entire area. If you are tired from walking, you can rest by the pond.

The pond of Padma Flower is located deep in the national park. The environment of Padma Pond was very beautiful. I like this place the most. Moreover, there are native and foreign trees scattered throughout the garden. One of the attractions of the botanical garden is the Cactus Green House and the Orchid House. They were surrounded by nets so they had to be seen from outside.

Besides, I saw many unknown trees in the garden. The flowering plants were also a sight to behold. The garden has a nursery, from where saplings can be purchased at affordable prices. We wandered around the park for about 1 hour, but it felt like we might have missed some places. What happens if you have less time?

The natural beauty of the park is truly amazing. I enjoyed a wonderful environment with the collection of rare flora, quiet environment, bird call, and flower fair. If you are a nature lover then you should visit Bangladesh National Park at least once.
