Parbatipur Diesel Locomotive Workshop is a huge property of Bangladesh Railway. It's an important locomotive workshop for Bangladesh Railway. I don't know the exact time when this workshop has been established. But the exterior suggests that it's an installation from the British period.
Last winter I visited this Railway Workshop with one of my younger brothers. He works in Bangladesh Railway. So it was easy for me to enter this workplace with him. I also ride an oil reserve tank there. It was an amazing experience to visit this railway workshop and ride that oil reserve tank.
When I visit the building shown in the 1st picture I was amused. It was beautiful and huge and remarks that it's an old building which is standing as a witness of a history of British structure.
It was a part of the Indian subcontinent and neighbouring country India is very close to this region. If you walk in this place it will feel like you are walking through history.
There is a locomotive 3309 at the Diesel workshop. It was a metre-gauge locomotive. This locomotive was dynamic in that period because it has a diesel-hydraulic-based function. It was another interesting part of my visit.
A lot of staff work here. When I visit this place I saw many people trying to reconstruct engines. Maybe it's also a workshop for restoring those static engines.
It was an educational journey for me. Because I have experienced the old structure of the British period. Besides I got some knowledge about a diesel workshop. A diesel workshop is always important for the development of railway accessories. So we have to take care of these workshops. We have to also train those railway workers well and allow them to learn and experiment for the growth of the Railway Sector.
