Ramachandra puri... I love the pastime. He was the godbrother of Isvara puri Lord Chaitanya's spiritual master. You see it's not just the "how things work" part of transcendental knowledge that gets us home, it is also the "character development" part.
Ramachandra puri had the knowledge of how things work part down but due to offenses to his guru his character was not good. He became absorbed in finding fault even up to the point of finding fault with the Lord Himself.
And what was the offense to guru?
Thinking he was more advanced and could instruct his guru.
When Ramachandra puri saw his spiritual master Madhavendra puri expressing ecstatic emotions in love of Godhead he interpreted it as mundane weakness and tried to instruct his guru.
For this offense he could not enter the intimate circle of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu as a loving devotee and remained a disturbance.
His mentality was so bad that he would do things like. He himself would sit down to a huge meal. And eat and eat and eat. Then he would Insist that the Vaishnavas eat and eat and eat. Out of courtesy they would eat, since he was a senior devotee even though they were not inclined to eat anymore. Then Ramachandra Puri would criticize them that they were violating regulative principles of devotional service in practice by eating so much. Needless to say he was not all appreciated in the association of devotees.
No one was able to help him. Not even the Lord. Eventually he simply drifted away and began to travel.
