This story by draws you in from the first line and invites us consider whether we aren’t alone in this world’s existence of intelligent life -- perhaps in the universe -- and whether there is indeed a hell ruled by an ever shapeshifting devil.
The main character, Chuck Wing, perhaps in desperation or lack of self-worth makes a deal to become a bigshot in Hollywood. As a reader along for the adventure on this likely chaotic rollercoaster I am hopeful to see if this plot arc develops beyond a short story.
There are a few areas of the story to be aware of. If you don’t like cliffhangers it may leave you a little too thirsty for more at the end. The ever shifting devil can come across as a bit unrestrained or hard to follow at first, though if you follow through to the end you may find the explanation for this rather satisfying.
It’s a marvelous offering and deserves some patience from the reader. As someone who enjoys writing about the supernatural and the mystic, I can understand how difficult it can be describe the eerie and abnormal nature of the others.
If one hasn’t read this lovely work I very much advise you do so. It’s enticing and thought provoking in the best of ways. A true insight to what we would sell our souls for.
