So for about a total of 120 minutes I have been a registered steemer (and yes I have literally been glued to my computer the last 120 minutes too).
I began thinking (as one hundred and twenty minutes is a fair whack of time)…
We need a 'Steemit 101'.
Think of this like the idiots guide to using Steemit, so you can totally fluff your way through this place like a pro.
So, from one newbie to another, here are the most important things you need to know (well what I think is important to know):
Tip #1: Post, Post and Post:
Once you join the lovely steemit world and all your steemy senses are tingling, put that into good use and post an ‘introduce myself’ blog post. Think of this as being your ‘ALL ABOUT ME’ post- like you’ve just transferred new schools and you want to try and show off how cool and fun you are so people can be friends with you. And just like any addiction, once you start posting you can’t stop. But hey, this addiction is completely accepted in the steemit world.
Tip #2: Follow Me (everything is alright….)
Just like Uncle Cracker once said ‘Follow Me, everything is alright’, everything will literally be alright if you follow people! As you are now part of a community it is important that you introduce yourself and start to make some friends. People are nice and won’t bite (well not physically as you are sitting in front of an electronic device).
Tip #3: Be POWER(ful)
That’s right, in this wonderful virtual reality you have the ability to be very powerful (but to also make other people very powerful too). You can do this through ‘upvoting’ which is essentially saying ‘HEY MA STEEMDAWG I TOTALLY DIG WHAT YOU POSTED’ and giving them a virtual thumbs up for their efforts. So click on that little ^ arrow if you want your new steemy friends to be making it big time in the steemit world.
So, to sum up the last 3 paragraphs. All you have to do is 1) write a lot of nonsense and feel like a blogging whore because you post so much 2) make friends by following people and commenting on the whole lot of nonsense they have posted 3) you can bond over both writing and liking a whole lot of nonsense by clicking the ^ button.
