This weekend I'm taking a break from binge-watching/reading Chinese manga/light novel/animes and is temporarily back to watching Animes (Japan ftw! XD).
I've downloaded a couple of Anime series since January of this year and waited for months before the series is near to end so that I can watch all of it in one sitting. One of those series is Dororo which I believe has only 24 episodes and will end by tomorrow (or Tuesday for the English sub XD).
Anyway, as someone who haven't read the manga nor watched the 1969 version (Jesus that's 50 years ago) of this series, I really do think that the 2019 version is a decent one. Not that great but also not that bad.
Plot~wise, I will give it a 9.0 out of 10 just because I am a little biased with this kind of plot and I really do dig the whole 12 demons taking at least one body part of the MC's body and his straight-forward goal of getting his body back 1 body-part & demon at a time.
What I hate though is how it is executed. It seems to me that the MC has tremendous luck that almost always the demons he encounters is always one of those 12 (or maybe there are only 12 demons in that world?! Did I miss the explanation for this? XD).
I also am not satisfied with the battle scenes as I was expecting epic battles between the MC and the demons. Instead we were given battles along the lines of a giant blob of mud vs the MC, a salamander-like demon vs the MC, a moth-like demon vs the MC, etc... Idk I'm just not digging the whole animal-like demon thingy mostly because they make the demons look weak. I was honestly expecting the demons to have some sort of high-intelligence and not be defeated that easily.
Another thing is that, am I the only one who thinks that Dororo is pretty annoying?! That tomboyish little girl is just too reckless and honestly I feel she talks way toooooo much (or maybe her voice is just what makes it annoying? Idk XD).
