Here is a DTube video of some Cambodian children performing a traditional Khmer dance. These young Cambodians were just adorable but I noticed some interesting things about their performance.
Firstly this seemed to be a courtship dance of some kind and I thought that the innocent dance moves reflect the larger story of love between humans.
Secondly I was most intrigued to see that the Khmer children were wearing traditional costumes very similar to what you would see being worn in the villages of Malaysia. Although not particularly surprising because of the historical mixing of cultures throughout South East Asia these were traditional clothes that I was familiar with but not from Cambodia. How interesting!
The name of this dance troupe is: The Viu Del Campo Apsara Dancing Troup.
My apologies for the low lighting... This was the best video I could take without hindering other people's view. I hope you enjoy this wonderful innocent yet meaningful dance and the Khmer music which accompanies it! 🐴
