I did a post of My First DIY Compost a month ago and was supposed to follow up on the progress. So now I'm going to make a post about how I used that compost of my.
Repotting Tomato Seedlings using recycle plastic container and my ever ready composts.
I like to reuse everything that I can, especially the water bottle or veggies containers, they are such useful items for the garden if you don't want to waste money buying those plastic or ceramic pots.
Today I'm using the salad container for today's project. I cut off the top part to make a hole, then cut a small hole at four sides of the corners for the water drainage later on. Also will be adding some more eggshells and used coffee grounds for added nutrients.
I have dozens of tomatoes seeds sprouting in just a few days. Even the celery is surviving nicely.
Sometimes I like to just throw my kitchen waste to my garden pots. Recently, I throw some of my tomatoes wasted to one of the pots for it to grow. Usually doing raining season it's very easy for them to start seedling. The result was surprisingly good.
Here's the mini compost I did last time, ready to be use.
The kitchen wasted inside is already decomposed into a healthy organic soil.
Okay, let's start our repotting!
I am mixing the compost with some fresh soil that I had earlier, put in in 1/3 of them inside the container, add in some eggshells and used coffee grounds and cover them up again with the rest of the soil.
Now I have 2 containers which I can use for my tomatoes seedling next!
I have transferred some of the tomatoes sprout to my containers, giving them some space to grow, but I know I need more to repotting the rest of the batch soon, they can grow very fast with the right weather and been fertilised.
This is what I do sometimes when I have time to take care of my garden, sometimes it's a good stress relief activity too, well... at least for me it is.
Let's see if they can survive my repotting method and grow into a healthy bunch or not, I hope so!
Thank you and see you in my next post!
