Would the current flowing from the sun through the Earth poles form polar holes by disintegrating the Earth shell?

The current that powers the Earth, entering via the north pole and exiting via the south pole, in an electrical circuit from the sun poles, does it burn a hole through the shell similar to how lightning striking the roof of a house burns a hole through it? By erosion from melting, burning, disintegrating, evaporating, the crust.
